ND well realizes this and has for some time.

ND also realizes that it could be making $25-30 million a year more in TV money and other payouts in the Big Ten. All ND had to say was "yes" at any time. It said"no".

It doesn't think that these moves are in its total best interests as an institution.

It realizes all of these things and still chooses football independence.

ND thinks that is in the best interests of the school for marketing and exposure.

It has worked very well off the field, in terms of the above things. On the field, ND has won 14 of its last 15 games and has won 24 of its last 28 games.

Tonight in Athens is very likely a much different matter. I have Georgia as one of the four best teams in the country. I think this will get ugly.

Maybe if he does, he'll line up onsides. And if he doesn't, maybe the ref will call it for a change.
