I know everybody is down on FSU, but in the last 2 games they have held large first half leads. If they can put together a complete game they could beat UVA.

I think most non-FSU people aren't as down on FSU as FSU people may be.

FSU is frightening, because they have shown what they are capable of. And the idea they COULD put together a whole game is scary, if you're playing them.

RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 3
Who knew that the first "out-of-conference" game between conference members would be so interesting ..

2 and 0 Wake versus
2 and 0 UNC

That should be fun to watch.

"A clash of original members... a showdown of ACC unbeatens... A long-time in-state rivalry is renewed Friday night on ESPN as the North Carolina Tar Heels, off to a 2-0 start under 2nd time head coach Mack Brown, visits the 2-0 Demon Deacons of Wake Forest in a special non-conference match-up."
Is that hype enough for you?

The only team good enough to stand toe-to-toe with FSU when the Noles play a complete game is probably Clemson. Maybe Miami, IF the Canes ever play a complete game themselves!

If the main reason FSU hasn't put together a whole game is because they aren't well-conditioned, is that something they can fix in a short time in the middle of a season?

Conditioning is a possibility. I don’t know if that is fixable unless we rotate more players to compensate for it.

What happened to Thursday night games? I did not see any on the schedule this week or last.

They ought to talk to The Sun Belt or CUSA or even the AAC to do a Thursday night game on ESPN, The Deuce or U throughout the season. Non NFL folks like me would watch it as long as the game is interesting. Additionally, It would cover the first couple Thursdays of September (we are going 2-3 weeks without a Thursday night game in September.

The AAC smartly is trying to fill the void left by most of the P5 leagues by playing on Thursday a bunch.

Everyone is saying Virginia will win this game, and I think that's a red flag for Virginia

UVA really hasn't played anybody...they aren't going to go out there and dance all over Florida State

If the FSU offense continues to improve, they could be very dangerous in this game

I don't have good vibes about Pitt-Penn St

I also think Clemson wins fairly easily

BTW the game is on ESPN not the ACCN.

So, such a matchup of Conference opponents in a non-Conference game has never occurred before?

Never in the ACC (It's been done in the Pac-12).

That's bull****. I want my Thursday CFB back. Frankly I want all months of CFB to look like November: A game almost every week night.
