My vision would be a channel with movies like Major League, Days of Thunder, The Longest Yard, Remember the Titans, the Blind Side, etc. in between live ACC sports events as more or less filler. There could be a continuous news feed or score ticker that runs continually or every 15 minutes to update the women’s volleyball, field hockey, soccer or whatever. Might even have a 3 minute highlight show at the top of the hour of all the action of that day.

What I am proposing is a way of not only keeping the casual ACC fan watching the channel, but also attract the non-ACC fan if there is a good movie playing occasionally.

I'd prefer for the ACC to be a little more creative in filling time. Why not have lectures from the best professors? Why not 30-for-30 style documentaries on the schools? Etc.

RE: ACC Network
Spectrum reps are telling fans the ACC Network is coming. This one will get done. It has to on both parties part.

An interview with John Wildhack
Starts to get relevant with the ACC Network around 6 mins in (Newhouse is the name of the school at Syracuse that teaches Sports Broadcasting)

There’s only so many of these movies. Better to run replays of games and cultural programming from ACC campuses.

RE: ACC Network
Speaking of replays, has ESPN acquired the library of the old Jefferson-Pilot/Lincoln Financial/Raycom ACC games going back to the 70's? I mean, the ACCN could have thousands of games from the past to show during hours/days when there are no live ACC events to televise. Think of it as ESPN-Classic for the ACC. I know they do some of this on the SECN.

I have to believe ESPN has some kind of access because they've shown old JP/LF/Raycom games from the distant past on their ESPN-Classic channel for years.

(and, for the newer members, I'd have no problem with them showing some classic Big East games from the past on the ACCN though they obviously weren't ACC games back in the day...Hokies and Canes played some classics on the gridiron and Pearl Washington - God Rest His Soul - was a fun one to watch in the Carrier Dome back in the day...just as examples)

Yes.

I never heard him speak, but being a former pro-QB public speaking comes with the job. Is Roddy Jones also joining the ACCN?

With the RSNs remaining I guess until that contract ends, will local ACCN digital blackouts still remain?

I assume you are referencing the ACC Network Extra streaming offerings when you say "ACCN digital". My guess is that those online blackouts will remain in place (just as in the past) in the geographic footprints where RSN's are televising the games.

I would assume so (for RSN games).

RE: ACC Network
A place for Comcast-Xfinity subscribers (or, really anybody for that matter) to make their feelings known about C-X needing to add the ACCN in the coming weeks/months in advance of the launch date (now at 77 days away)...

Please share this and get the word out.

Thankfully games aren't on Wednesdays, because Roddy Jones is a little busy on Wednesdays.

..................ewww no.03-drunk

I'd prefer just show every schools sports (olympic, etc); and even during the super downtimes, show older shows & old games while producing newer shows about ACC schools. That's it. All ACC schools ALL THE TIME!!04-rock

That's what I'm interested in.04-cheers

My favorite WVU game was when Marvin Graves spiked the ball off a WV´s players helmet and didn´t get ejected.

I just chatted with a Direct TV NOW rep and she confirmed they will have the channel. I am not sure which package but an email should come out soon. DirecTV was already on board but they never mentioned DTV NOW.
