But it’s not though. The stadium was designed with the intent to turn it into an MLB stadium once the olympics concluded. The plans for Turner Field were drafted alongside the Olympic stadium plans. Turner Field essentially cut the Olympic venue in half and Ga State Stadium cut Turner Field in half.
If MBS had been built solely for us you would say it sucked.

Our stadium is fine. It needs more work doing on it, and that's what they're doing. The field has no problem fitting into the stadium. It has all the correct dimensions, everything is as it's supposed to be. There is seating around the whole field, including both end zones. Yes, the visitor stands aren't as big as all the other stands, but who gives a crap, it's still got plenty of seats in it. And yeah, if you sit in the visitors stands it's going to be harder to see the video board, which is literally the case with any school with a single video board with seating around the entire stadium. I've been to Tech games before where i've sat below the video board in the south end zone, and guess what, i had to turn 180˚ to see it. Better tear down the stadium... But more than all of this, who gives a ****? Almost every stadium in the Sun Belt has some issue. But again, we're here because instead of this forum being used to discuss stuff, it turns into a session of ******** on the other school. Just stop. i hardly come to this website anymore because this is all it is.
Anyone who has been to an SEC or ACC stadium would also see conditions outside of the actual playing field much worse than GSUS because their concourses and bathrooms were built 60 years ago.

Wrong again. But thanks for playing....

Not sure if my attachment will come through correctly, but half of the Olympic stadium was reconfigured to make the outfield side of Turner Field. They brought the outfield wall closer and reconfigured what ultimately became the seats on the third base side. They are flat to the infield of the track in your photo but are not flat to your current field.
That is different from what he said....because?

I don't have to look at photos. I am an Atlantan. The original stadium configuration was with a track and a North/South infield.

It was changed for MLB by placing the outfield wall closer and replacing 30k seats with the Delta Club and Plaza. The reason the visitor side seats are closer than the original east side seats is that obviously there is no longer a track. BTW, we are experts in this stadium and I have several hundred pics of this stadium going back to when they dug our the whole in the ground and started the foundation for the grand stands.

Because its not its ORIGINAL configuration. The north half of the Olympic stadium was demo'd to make a new outfield wall. When you were given Turner Field, you did not remove the left field wall and extend it back to the north to put it back in it's original location.

Explain to me how the outfield was brought closer to make Turner, you did not change left field in your new design for your football field, yet it's back to the ORIGINAL CONFIGURATION?????

Ok sure.

Agree to ...emmmm... disagree?

At any rate we are hosting the Georgia HS Football Finals.

Me and TBD are saying it wasn't and provided pictures proving our point and you reply with "Thats.What.I.Said."????

I'm not sure you really know what you said or what you meant.

You do get that football field and Olympic track infield are in the same alignment (North/South)and that the football is in almost the same exact position as the Olympic track infield was, right?

I am not even sure what the Southern argument is at this point? If it's that we crammed a football field into a baseball stadium, then fine if that helps you sleep at night. But it's a gross misrepresentation and just petty. With have a lot of money to preserve this building and make sure it has further useful life; now to their tune of about $100M.

But if that will make you feel better take the win and please leave. You, the collective you have senselessly ruined yet another thread.

The stadium ceased being the Olympic stadium in 1996 when it was essentially cut almost in half and was turned into a baseball stadium. 20 years later when you again make it smaller and cram a football field inside it, you guys try to sell to anyone that will listen that it's the "original configuration" and show an original photo of the Olympic stadium as if to prove your point. Just because the field runs North and South doesn't mean it's the same.

Excuse me for being one of the few that will call you out on your BS and not just ignore you like everyone else does.
