Keep everything at-large. It reinforces the poll tradition. Get it done reg season.

TOTALLY agree with this.

Why have auto bids?? If you are a Power 5 Conference, and you can't place your champion in the Top 8 in the country, than tough sh!t ... you don't deserve a bid.

But I bet if we looked back, every P5 conference would have had a top 8 team every year of the playoff era.

You're looking at it backwards. Why have a CCG if it's meaningless? (but if an auto-bid goes to the winner, now the stakes are high!).

Stop being so negative ("if you can't place your champion...") and focus on the positives that would come from auto-bid (i.e. CCG becomes a de facto playoff game)

Conference Championships aren't meaningless. It's a goal of every school in the conference, or at least it should be.

Plus it is a lucrative thing for the conference itself.

Auto-bids are lazy. We're talking about 8 teams. Not 65. A committee should be able to figure out who the best 8 teams are without needing auto bids. Winning a conference championship should be one data point used by the committee to do so. But if you lost 3 other games that season you win the conference championship, that should be another data point.

I'm down for Auto bids......for 2 reasons they add a ton of spice to both reaching and winning every championship game. Plus it adds variety and removes the bias that some have for other conference winners....i.e. Pac07-coffee3
