Nice to see Coleman get some recognition. He was a beast for us this year.

Bit surpried Moore got OPOY over Chunn.

Petrino getting Coach of the Year is a joke. Winning eight games wasn't like a small miracle with that offense and a favorable schedule.

No, go ahead. I think, just looking at this one year, Brown deserved it over Petrino by a hair. Both did terrific jobs, but looking at it from the end of last year both started from about the same place and Troy had a better team this year than Idaho. So Brown gets coach of the year, in my mind.

If there were a "Coach of 2014-2016" award, I'd give that to Paul Petrino over pretty much anybody.

140 more yards on 30 less attempts, not sure there's much to complain about. Could've gone either way though.

Unless you're talking about COY, in which case, yeah I'm with you.

Well, he did build that offense from pretty much nothing with a bunch of guys who weren't really recruited by anybody. That's not coaching?

Brown took a a 3-9 and 4-8 team the last 2 years to 9-3...First Ranked SBC program in conference history and Possibly first 10 win team in FBS school history.

But gave it to Petrino who took 3 years to get to 8 wins and 0 wins over the top 3 in the league (Blow outs in both games)

Congrats to Petrino hes done a terrific job no doubt. But I just feel Brown was slightly more deserving

If you were following, they originally had the 2015 list up for Honorable Mention and Newcomer teams. I assume many of us (on twitter) pointed out the fact that one of the players wasn't even with our team any longer because he had transferred out in the spring. The have since corrected it. (both lists)

TXST players on HM
London - RS Freshman
Loyd - JUCO transfer
Mitte - RS Freshman
Brewer - Freshman

2 LBs, 1 DE, 1 OL

Preseason, Troy was picked 6th, Idaho picked 8th. Tied in the standings at 6-2, understand the pick.

App gets special status now. Every time the coach of the year didn't win at least a share of the conference, Arkansas State (and now) or Appalachian State won the league.

Funny that the only reason Duck even played at DB this year was because Gibbs had a bad spring semester in the class room.

Red Shirt Freshman LB from TXST, Bryan London is (NCAA stats), 1st in solo tackles, 2nd in total tackles & 3rd in tackles per game, yet only gets Honorable Mention in the Sun Belt. Coaches/media bias if a team not winning.
(also 8 TFL and 2 FF)

Make your case for, or against, his making at least 2nd team.

Aggie fans are not happy.

Rodney Butler, the nation's leading tackler with 13.8 tackles per game (165 totals), was named a first-teamer on defense. He also led the nation in tackles 12 of the 14 weeks since the season started on Sept. 3 for NM State. His 24 tackles against Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico was two shy of tying the NCAA single-game tackles record. The Palm Springs, Calif., product recorded double-digit tackles in all but one game this season. His three forced fumbles on the year led the Sun Belt Conference and was good for 28th in the nation while his 63 solo tackles is good for third in conference action and 30th in the country. Butler wrapped up his senior campaign with 165 tackles, three forced fumbles and an interception.

Oh well, only 8 games left for us.

Don't disagree, just understand the reasoning.
Of course I thought Troy was undervalued in the pre-season poll.

I thought we were too...I knew we would finish better than 6th. I was thinking a 7-5 record...Brown blew my expectations away...I also think we could easily be 7-5 right now had a couple plays not gone our way.

This team Silvers and Chunn included basically returns next year...I think 2017 is our year, and another favorable schedule.

Not that I have a Problem with Otha peters getting first team because he is deserving, just weird he hit first team and our other LB, loghtffot led the team in tackles and was honorable mention. Peters is the one who jumps out when watching though. Just an observation.

Moore was statistically better in a lot of areas and it appears whoever the voters are thought highly of him as well. I'm sure Chunn is probably an MVP for Troy, however as an individual player I don't know that I would put him over Moore.
