Agreed, and he just got picked off again.

App ball with under 3 minutes left.

Man this QB is brutal. This is a hell of a team otherwise. Give Georgia State a QB and App a kicker and we would each have a top 10 P5 win. Oh well

ASN announcer just stated looking at future Ga State schedule that South Alabama and Ark State are the tough teams to beat and good football teams back to back for the Panthers as the continue their season.

Why does Manning keep throwing to the stick route while the MLB is still there? Point of that route is to abuse the MLB for vacating that area while supporting the run.....doesn't really do anything if he's still there.

Every win regardless how ugly is a good win.

6 total points for Ga State in 3 years.

It's a victory in the barn. Can't say much more about it other than that, but I'll take it.

GSU has a really good defense, especially in the secondary, glad we have got them out of the way, they will be a dangerous team going forward. Offensively, couldn't believe they wouldn't take more shots down the field in the 15-20 yd range, everything with either a very short pass or deep down the sidelines, there were plenty of holes in our secondary in the middle of the field, but for whatever reason they didn't take advantage, I'll take the win.

Congrats on the win App! GSU looks better than I thought they would be, glad we're playing them early hopefully before their offense comes alive.

Congrats App. Lacking a QB was bound to eventually become a bigger liability than not having a kicker. I hope it was at least a solid practice for your D.

Good game to you guys as well. I can't remember the last time our offense was shut down that much by a Sun Belt opponent. But man, that QB was bad. Feel bad for Hart and the other receiver right now. Is Scaife still with the program?

A football season is an evolving process. I believe App's offense is making strides. Today I was encouraged by what I saw out of our young receivers against a good secondary. You can almost see the trust forming between those guys and Lamb. Marcus should be back next week and with Jaylin averaging 207 yards a game in his absence, we should be good to go down the stretch in the run game. The defense bounced back today with an outstanding performance. App is 3-2 and 1-0 in the conference with an OT loss to #11 undefeated Tenn and to #14 undefeated Miami. Right where most people expected us to be. I'm prety content at this point.

QB play and kicking is going to have to improve to win the SBC. Still have time.

Too many drops, too many drops, TOOOOO MANY DROPS. The receiving group has the athleticism of an FBS bunch but the hands of a D2 teams receivers. Last week drops weren't an issue and there were different guys playing. The group we saw today. Aside from Meadors who had a beautiful hands catch, has too many drops.

Lamb isn't the issue. The receivers can't get open and when they do they can't catch. Lamb shows his acumen on back shoulder throws.

As far as I know, yes. I don't know why Manning got to continue so long today when it clearly. wasn't. working. (Unless maybe CTM has finally decided that the other options really aren't going to work out.) I did expect to see more from Manning today; this seemed like a step back.

Agreed. Lamb set a school record for TD passes last year. The difference is the receiving corp. Luckily they are showing flashes the last two weeks. Hopefully the extra days to prep will help them work out a few more kinks.

3-2 and 1-0 is what everyone expected at this point.

Lamb is definitely an issue. He has no arm strength, under throwing receivers and putting the ball behind them on crossing routes. His inability to connect on out routes has cost us a couple touchdowns this season alone.

I'm not sure what the love affair is with Lamb among App fans, but it certainly exists. I get he's a great kid and is a coaches son, but we need a good qb.

RE: Game Thread: Georgia State @ App State ESPN3
Lamb's arm strength has always been average for a G5 program and his accuracy has been worse this year. He throws 2-3 balls behind WRs each game, the INT today was a product of that. Now the WRs are dropping more balls too, but I'm afraid Lamb hasn't improved from last year. Still time, glad we have only one game the next 20 days, time to get better as a team.

RE: Game Thread: Georgia State @ App State ESPN3
I would agree with the last 2 posters. Lamb has never been an gunslinger, but he's been a great game manager and has made the throws that needed to be made to keep the offense moving. Of course, that was also with some WR's that were better/more experienced than the ones ya'll have now.

Lamb has been reliable, but if his accuracy is leaving him then there's going to be some weaknesses exposed there. Not having Upshaw and/or Cox has made things a lot more difficult.
