You still haven't answered the to the claim that you brought up. I'm not discussing moral victories, you are saying that Southern has a defensive road map to beat App and I want to know what Southern can emulate of Miami's?

Surely the linebackers and defensive line can't clog up the middle the way Miami's defense did. Can't force App's receivers to drop passes the way Miami's did. The game plan wasn't hard; plug the running lanes. The thing is, Southern can't emulate that game plan all day because the defense is far more similar to Akron's than Miami.

Every game left on the Cajun schedule is winnable. Even @Georgia is winnable, for now. We'll see if they recover from the Ole Miss beat-down, or not.

Georgia has been teetering and finally fell over this past weekend. They played the wrong team at the wrong time.

We beat the C-USA West Division Champ and clobbered an improved NMSU team. You have done nothing of the sort. Those aren't moral victories. Troy is in no way a lock to win the SBC, but our last two games are certainly better than what you've put on the field.

Let's put to bed the idea that Troy fans believe we're going to run roughshod over the conference. Nobody is saying that, and nobody will. Don't be like the one or two Cajun fans that are always trying to stir up drama that isn't there.

I think Troy is going to run over the conference....

Probably even App due to a lack of size at defensive end and OLB for Troy. Could be a high scoring affair again, it's difficult to say. A long way to go until that game though.

I contacted Trent Miles and let him know that he should have my Panthers play exactly like Miami this week. We'll see if he follows through.

I can assure there aren't any Troy fans around our message board proclaiming a Sun Belt title automatically.

After 5 stright seasons at .500 or below, we are cautious to say anything... but we are optimistic by what we have seen thus far.

For App the players expect to win every game remaining (only SBC games remain). With Troy, GS, and ULL on the road that is a tall order. I think 7-1 is doable, but wouldn't be surprised by a 6-2 finish either.

Pass defense is still fairly questionable. Kicking as well.

Young WRs stepped up last week, just not the ones I expected.

Evans is going to be special, get used to see him and Moore the next few years, and our offensive line may just be the best in the conference (no injuries please!).
Have to think Watts was sending a message to some of the scholarship WR's Saturday. Beginning to realize how important Doug Middleton was to our secondary. Gray has all the physical tools, but have to wonder if he has what it takes to be the QB of tge defense. All defenses have their weaknesses and Troy exposed ours last year. Woody likes to keep everything in front and stop people inside the 30. Hopefully he can make adjustments to the hurry up and quick tosses to the WR's. Our group of LB's are the best in the conference. PAT's & FG's still a work in progress. Very pleased with OL. People talk about Collins & Gossett, but imo Vic Johnson might be the best NFL OL prospect we've ever had. That guy can flat out play. RB position is in great hands into the foreseeable future. Taylor isn't flashy, but he's cool under pressure and just wins games. That's all you can ask for.

Want to know what that message was? These guys fit our offense and can catch the ball. There isn't a message he needs to send any more than the players themselves can send.

Gray doesn't have it all mentally. He is more of an enforcer and seems to be reactionary versus pro-active in coverage, which is fine most of the time, however it also results in him being caught out of position.

All in all, App is right where most would've though, 2-2 going into conference play; Averaging 38 PPG, close to 280 rushing yards and 220 passing yards per game against G5 opponents.

The details are where people guessed wrong, however I don't think that Troy even has the offensive skill players that Akron has. I believe Troy has the better running back and quarterback (and coaching), but the threat presented by having a 5-9 160 lb guy next to a 6-3 215 lb guy won't be there.

The message being don't think because you're a scholarship player you're entitled to play. Walk-on's TJ Watkins and Brad Absher are getting snaps while former starter Dante Jones & heralded recruit Mock Adams have played minimal snaps while former starter Ike Lewis is MIA.

The two app games I've watched, ya'll haven't been that impressive. WMU would smoke anyone in the sun belt, and we shot ourselves in the foot on 3 plays, and basically gifted them 21 points. Apps passing game isn't as good as WMU, and won't pose as big of a problem.

GT just sucks this year.

You're focusing on the wrong thing clearly. If you watched the Akron game, it was clear that the coaching staff game planned differently and the intent was to throw the ball more. Against Miami and Tennessee, you are clearly going to see a team who is overmatched.

If you watched the games against peer schools, you would understand that G5 v. G5 is much more telling with the type of offense App is going to run. In all honesty, I see a repeat of last years game but worse because Southern's defense has actually fallen off whereas App's offensive line and running game has improved.

Through that improved running game you will see more effective passing with a bigger and faster receiving corp than what was in place last season. But we still have a month until that game and another 3 games you can watch other than against two AP Top 25 teams.

You're focusing on the wrong thing clearly. Our defense isn't the problem. Also, Miami literally gave us a road map to beat you and if Coach Summers wants to keep his job he needs to focus on beating App and Ga State.

Troy provided everyone the gameplan against our D. Unfortunately it won't help Ga So since your offense isn'r even close to what Troy and Miami do.

I'm no insider but that shouldn't need to be stated explicitly or implicitly. If the guys are playing with a sense of entitlement, which I doubt was the issue, then they should be benched unless that sense of entitlement is also leading to productivity.

The fact of the matter is that the young guys who got to play looked much more prepared and better suited mentally for what App was trying to do in the screen game. I've honestly never seen App run bubble screens to the effect that they did against Akron. Whether that was an Akron thing or an App thing remains to be seen.

Of course I want you to lose none of us are going to the Access bowl so all we have is conference championship. Say what you want but we are undefeated in conference as of today and so is A-State.

I really just want the conference to be competitive out of conference and for the in conference schedule to go as anticipated for App. Beat the teams you are supposed to beat soundly, prevail in tight games against contenders. I don't throw ill will anyone's way and State finally received all of the karma built up from the off season talk.Time to lay off of them until they win a conference game.

After giving us sh*t for talking about our "moral victories" the last two years and now they are proclaiming to be conference favorites for what? Not losing to Clemson and Tennessee as bad as y'all were suppose to?? Give me a break... 03-lmfao

Except that it wasn't a Cajun fan who said what you are complaining about.

This time. There are a few fans here, not just Cajun, that think a missile launch is a nuke drop. I wouldn't be surprised if several wanted Idaho to beat Troy this weekend so we can be "taken down a notch". They just don't like winners.

Ok I feel provoked so I'll say I could careless if you run the table because we will always say but they didn't play the Cajuns. Why wouldn't fans want another school to lose a conference game. Of course I want you to lose none of us are going to the Access bowl so all we have is conference championship. Say what you want but we are undefeated in conference as of today and so is A-State.

I agree with you. My point is fans from other schools don't have to create the illusion that Troy fans are "chest-beating" to root against us.
