Kentucky fans talking about Brown.
Pulled this from a guy on our forum. Hoping this doesn't happen so soon, but its nice getting the attention. Neal Brown is the former OC at UK. concerns me slightly, and if we win 9 or more games ill be even more concerned.

RE: Kentucky fans talking about Brown.
I don't think most UK fans are going to want to fire Stoops and then go and take one of his proteges.

My guess is they will go for WKU's Jeff Brohm or they will do the thing that's trendy in the SEC and take a Nick Saban assistant.

I think its more about....who wants to go to Kentucky?

I doubt Brohm does.

Brown might though. It would be an error, but he might.

RE: Kentucky fans talking about Brown.
Brown would likely leave. He's from Kentucky. And was OC there.

Even if he won 6 games there he would be their God. Don't think they have been bowling since 2010

I feel like they would like to atleast see a couple successful seasons at Troy first. But if he was to win 11 games at Troy second season that could do it.

I hope he chooses to avoid Kentucky for his sake. That's where coaches go to kill their career.

I think Kentucky should go after Mike Leach.

I feel like Kentucky is going to try and make a big splashy hire to satisfy big donors. Neal Brown will certainly be on their short list, but I'm thinking Kentucky tries to land a bigger name.

Oh I think it's very likely they'd take Brown.

UK isn't going to see Brown as a stoops protege...his career is way too long for that. Their fans are instead going to look at the success they had offensively with Brown, the success he has had at Troy, and be ready to make a call.

Maybe its the cynical part of me, but in the last two of AState's One and Done coaches, there were exact conversations like that on Auburn's and Boise's message boards. We thought there wasn't a chance it would happen, and then it happened.

I think the bigger question is, does Brown see Kentucky as a good job? I don't see him as tied to the Wildcats as a coach would be to another school.

Brohm is in a situation where he can pick a lot better jobs than Kentucky, because A LOT Of places are going to want him if WKU wins the league this year. I think he'd love to go to Louisville whenever Petrino spurns them for another woman...or football team.

If Troy finishes with 7 or 8 wins, that would be an impressive season by every standard, but it's probably not going to excite P5 programs without a connection to him previously.

Hope they keep talking about Brown more and more and more. He is a heck of a coach. I believe he could make Kentucky into a 8-4 squad on a regular basis.

$18 million in buyout on Stoops and staff this year, I wouldn't worry too much...

You always worry, if he win the Belt this year there is a good chance and if he wins it next year, he gone. Troy is 98th at $750,000 in payroll not hard for any P5 or upper level G5 to more than double that.

He's not going to Kentucky. I see him leaving for an AAC/MWC level program first, if he continues winning that is.

stAte proved that's not always true. Especially if you history with the P5 school.

Why is this even a topic right now? Let's worry about what's going on now with our season and not try to predict or assume what the future of Neal Brown holds. It's irrelevant right now and I'm more than certain it's not even a thought in his mind, so why are we even thinking, nonetheless, even talking about it? Move on.

Stoops won't be fired after this year. The buyout is just to expensive. UK recently spent 130 million on the stadium and another 40 million on a football complex. I don't think they could come up with the 18 million. Mitch is also known to hang on to guys and extra year or two. He did that with Joker Phillips.

I have been talking with a girl who is a huge Kentucky fan that says the fan base is tired of their head coach.
