That is fair, as long as you understand that while I have no problem discussing talent, and who IMO should win, I normally defer to 'credible' sources, or even posters here, as to who has the 'best' team going into a game.

Know you will forget this if your team wins, and again claim that I predicted a blow-out win by A-State( but I have not), or the fact there are few if any credible sources that do not have ULL as the underdog in this game.

Think the 'consensus' in their three loses last year that ULL (think they were the only team favored to beat them), had the better team, but AppSt, and TxSt did not.

At this point it looks like AppSt is the only SBC that will be favored over them by 'credible' sources, and this is the truth, that is simply ignored by posters.

The A-State fans simply don't like the fact their team is losing games to teams they are not suppose to, and I can understand why.

What game in 2015 did A-State lose that it was not supposed to?

Are you still talking about last year? If so, why?
Think they were favored over both AppSt, and TxSt.

A ULL fans said i predicted A-State would beat ULL badly last year. Might have said they should, but probably did not make a prediction.

Also wanted to point out that 'credible' sources, have had, and will continue to have A-State as the favorite in most of their SBC games. Underdog in only one last year, and likely only one this year.

Many of those 'credible' sources use my clients data( which involves a lot more than evaluating the talent on each teams roster that I help put together) in making their decisions, so I do have a heads up on what to expect, especially from the folks in Vegas.

Why so cryptic? And what "sources"?

Any moron can see that, as things stand now, stAte will be likely be favored every game except @ APP. ESPN FPI is a good indicator of that. Could get that same clear indication from Sagarin Predictor.

Why are you fixated on 2 losses last year (TXST and APP)?? And while you are at it, why not point out that stAte beat a better, more talented team in Utah State last year?

This coaching staff has thus won net one fewer game than expected so far, based on your "talent analysis". Hardly a trend.

RE: Seven decades of competition Astate vs Louisiana thread
That is pretty much my standing prediction for most of their game, although a little more provocative than I normally put it. Remember my position based only on talent on their roster vs the other sbc teams, is they should not lose to any SBC team, fully knowing i will be wrong in some games.

and I posted this at he same time on another thread:

"Sorry but as i have said before that is all i know anything about, and I make it clear that my predictions are based only on talent.

No problem that that offends some people who really are just fans being fans, and defending their team.

The GaSo and UL posters are just really good 'fans', as are the A-State posters but they are more skilled at being politically correct."

This is still the case today, and i know I will be off the mark in some games, as will all 'credible sources', even the folks in Vegas. That is what makes this so much fun.

Because the people paying me ( I'm really more of sub-contractor in this case) say I can't be more specific, as do most companies that hire me. In this case it is not necessary because my part is just plugging in their numbers to the rosters I verify, as best i can. I just see which SBC teams have the best numbers on my spreadsheet in , and get a peak at their overall record prediction, when verifying the clerks put my data in correctly.

What the morons see now did not seem to be what they saw this summer, and even early in the season.

Was only asked who they lost to that they were favored over, and even then was going off the top of my head.

I actually posted that somewhere else and , the trend I see is that A-State will probably be favored in almost all their SBC games for some time to come, because their younger talent is actually their better talent on my spreadsheet.

As I have said the main thing I see that has hurt them has been all the coaching changes, and their talent is such they still have been successful.

RE: Seven decades of competition Astate vs Louisiana thread
We'll be pretty decent sized underdogs at App State this year, otherwise, yes, we'll be favored every game rest of the way, but that's not exactly going out on a limb, we've still got Georgia State, New Mexico State, and a scuffling ULM left on the schedule, along with a closing home game against Texas State, who hasn't stopped anyone yet.

However, Vegas sets lines to draw bets on it and make money. I don't put an overwhelming amount on what htey think, nor would I call any sports book "credible."

No problem, but I'm was not referring just to the folks in Vegas, and have posted links to several credible sources that rank teams, and many pay to have access to the data my client provides.

I have referred to and linked to this site as a credible source for some information , also HowlYes.com, AStateNation.com, the Jonesboro Sun, etc.

Why me, I have a standing prediction based only on their roster talent is they are going to win every SBC game, and am stuck with it even against what will probably be a heavily favored AppSt team.

Why not every other 'credible' source out here that is saying ULL is the 'dog' in this game.

Yes I have said they win by 20+ if their qb plays at an all-sbc level, they cover the line if he continues sub-par play, and they are in trouble if their backup has to step in early.

My intent in that post was to focus attention on their qb play being the key going forward, more than predict the game, and to reinforce my position that if they get decent qb play going forward, they may not lose again this year. I'm not that optimistic that is going to happen.

I got conscripted into recruiting right out of college because I happened to be friends with people that could help out a school in recruiting. It went well, and that opened some doors into that world, which is nothing like it is today.

My last involvement with recruiting at A-State, other than watching how they entertained recruits one weekend when Freeze was HC, was entertaining recruits when Ray Perkins was there.

Actually, the reason I visit this, and similar sites, other than keep me at my computer working at least some of the time, is to fill in the gaps of what i don't know are even care about.

Fact is I'm just a number cruncher when it comes to sports, which, other than when I'm playing one, i have no interest in.

While I wish that were true, since stAte is devoid of a rival since the Memphis series ended, ULM is your rival. That's pretty clear. You guys hate each other.

I've never met an stAte fan that hated ULL, or even disliked them. We're more similar than not.

I think you are thinking that a rivalry only exists with hate. We have a healthy respect for the Cajuns...always has. It is a rivalry primarily because the players don't like each other, and neither team really has a huge rivalry game otherwise. It's sort of been born out of necessity.

You don't have to hate a team to be their rival.

What is this nonsense you don't hate UL? You can respect a program and still not like them. But it is hilarious to hear you some of the other Arkansas State fans say you don't hate UL. Any Cajun fan that has visited your web site on any occasion can get a good dose of the hate you and others have towards UL. And that's okay, but please don't pretend you guys love UL. Hopefully you will hate us more after tomorrow night.

Epic is right, after the dirty sh*t play of State in Lafayette last year this should be a game that both teams are ready to play. The culture doesn't seem to have change much in Jonesboro this year either, leading the SBC in personal fouls again this year.05-stirthepot

Spoiler alert: There isn't any. Outside of a bit of normal smack talk in the switched at birth thread. There may be some fans that hate the Cajuns, for some reason, but the vast majority only see them as one of the best teams we play every year and a tough opponent. There's a healthy dose of respect, fanbase to fanbase.

As I said, its nonsense so please stop pretending that is doesn't exist. You can respect a program and still hate it. BTW, why is that thug Xavier Woodson still in your program after threatening an official in a bowl game?

No problem, we hate losing to Ark State@ Jonesboro as well. But seriously, how is that the thug Xavier Woodson is still in your program? Exactly how many personal fouls, officials threaten and games suspensions must one get to be shown the door up in Jonesboro?

He sat out the first two games of the season for his actions in the bowl game last year.

He made a mistake and let frustration get the better of him, for which he was appropriately punished. If he did something bad enough to get kicked off the team, he'd be kicked off the team.
