Opens up a much better chance at ULM getting the Indy Bowl. I'm hearing that is a possibility.

Hating Western shouldn't matter and I enjoy being hated....it usually mean you are winning

The bigger question is do they still think the SBC is the worse rink-a-dink conference there is and only a step up from a FCS conference and they are still leaving the conference?

It's not the conference, it's the one that runs the conference.

I'm sure you read the Den....

it's the conference and no back peddling can change what was said about the SBC over the past few days by ASU fans.

Hell ASU fans put this conference down as much as any team that left..or leaving. As a fan base I thought ASU was happy, or maybe OK with being in the SBC. Boy was I wrong!

The frustrations of a few were due to Benson.
If you can link me to where they were bashing the teams as a whole, then I will concede the point.

Was NEVER about WKU with me. My only complaint was the league adopting "guidelines" that would impose financial penalties on schools that broke the "guidelines" but the league was claiming they didn't have to follow those same guidelines.

Nothing at all to do with the folks in the silver helmets and all about the guy in the yellow shirt.

I have no doubt Benson exerted his influence to get Ark. St the GoDaddy Bowl. It was the right thing to do.

more breaking news on this. asu threatened to sue sbc and go daddy. even had their attorney (arkstfan? you know anything about this? you been awful quiet.) threaten they would file an injunction if wku was invited prior to cajuns/south al game.

go daddy bought it and wanted to get invite out so tix could start selling and asu was only option.

what i'm hearing.

We don't hate WKU fans...We felt like we got sucker punched this week, and WKU just happened to be the team we were playing when that happened.

When you have gone through 20 years of mediocrity...as a fan base you are going to be paranoid, and just waiting for the proof you've always thought...that people were out to get you.

Throw in a healthy dislike between our fan base and CUSA and our fan base and Bobby Petrino, and you can see why WKU fans have had our ire.

I expected better from the most reasonable fans on this board. But what the heck, bad habits are hard to change, For the second year in a row, ASU fans are butt hurt over UL accepting the NO Bowl early.04-rock

Funny, I've been saying for two days that Lafayette didn't have to justify themselves to any of us. But they can't seem to even see posts that are supportive of them. They want to feel oppressed.

Yet came all the weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth... oppressed or disrespected? Not much different then the rest of us on this board after all.04-rock

I was simply told that our administration gently "reminded" the Sun Belt Conference that if the By laws were just "guidelines" then the penalties for negotiating with another bowl without SBC permission were just "guidelines" as well.

To be honest, I think we might have gotten an Independence Bowl invite had we waited till weekend. But no one is going to pull a Tech.

Well well well.....stAte fans have been in meltdown since Saturday because GoDaddy WANTED WKU and not them. I asked a dozen times how they KNEW this and no one answered.

Now I know why.

You should all be embarrassed......look like a bunch a of hysterical wimmens.
