As it is Steve Hawkins is only the second best Western Michigan bball coach. It is simply amazing that someone that cant recruit or coach has won so many games.

That's the sad part, it's not all the immense. Yes, I know you like to toe the company line when it comes to Hawkins, but I'm amiss at what he's done that is so amazing to you. And he really hasn't been winning all that much. There were years in the MAC West when you could win 8 out of 10 games and not break a sweat because the rest of the division was so bad.

Take last year for instance. We field a senior dominated team complete with two very good centers. Yet we feared a team with a brand new coach, and 5 freshmen and sophomore transfers in UT. That team had the swagger, we had the look of fear all year. And the coach that won the division did nothing but put in a gimick defense played by a bunch of players that we wouldn't have given a sniff to on the recruiting trail.

Nothing immense about it, I know a snake oil salesman when I see one. He recruits well, for the same reason and that alone keeps us mediocre.

RE: David Brown update
And how many game did that team play last year with out at least one of those seniors? let alone other key players? Yes in sports there is a next man up mentality but when he goes down too, then what? Where would Ohio be if Cooper sprained an ankle and couldn't play for a couple weeks, then in his first game stating the backup get injured too? A similar situation happened to the team last year at least once.

It's always something with him, and he cleverly blames everyone and everything but himself.

Akron was missing a starter, and they CRUSHED US. We actually added a player to our roster..........and they CRUSHED US.

Losing Gilliam, Akron's 5th or 6th best player, is hardly a comparison.

But whatever...keep on ranting.

Face it EA, if Akron's best player (Marshall) had been out as well they'd have still crushed us...............as illustrated by their back up center having his way with us.
