Coach U Officially to NC State
NC State has named NIU assistant Mike Uremovich offensive line coach.

So the only question left is if Kane stays or goes.

with the pay increase those assistant coach's likely got, I would have to say they were left.

Any NIU assistants aren't leaving NOW are they?? They better not... they have a VIP bowl to prepare for, which our whole conference is riding on!

I gotta say, it gave me an uneasy feeling when NIU32 reported that Nielsen was recruiting for NC State at Glenbard West. Not really a good thing.

Glenbard West won the state championship this year, man. Don't blame him at all for looking at guys we may not have been able to get.

RE: Coach U Officially to NC State
Doeren and co. have built relationships with area coaches over the last two years. They'd be foolish not to go back and try to get some players.

I wouldn't even blame them for going after guys we are going after, but so far I haven't seen anything to suggest they're even doing that.

My question about Nielsen, or any other coach in this situation, is how he allocates his time between preparing for the bowl game and recruiting for his new school. Hopefully, it's 100% on NIU from December 26th through January 1st.

I mentioned this before, but I believe it's a dead period for recruiting, right?

(2) December 17, 2012, through January 3, 2013, [except for (a) below]: Dead Period

(a) Institutional staff members may have contact with a prospective student-athlete who has been admitted for midyear enrollment, provided the prospect has signed a National Letter of Intent or other offer of admission and/or financial aid to attend the institution and is required to be on campus to attend institutional orientation sessions for all student

Yeah, so not sure why were all worried about the assistant coaches. Sure, they're probably talking with Doeren about who they are going to go after, but it's not like they're traveling all around.
