It has to be better next year (not by much though). Purdue is better than KU and Iowa most likely will have the same record, if not a little better. I would say our non-conf will be slightly better. MAC about the same.

The MAC schedule should add a little to our SOS with Kent replacing Buffalo.

To say that NIU played THE easiest schedule is not accurate. To say their schedule was "tough" is not accurate either.

The MAC was tougher this year, don't get me wrong. But NIU played 3 of the easiest MAC East teams -- 2 of which would be battling for over .500 in D1AA, along with the standard D1AA team in their schedule, who actually WAS one of those D1-AA 'dangers' as they beat Memphis and did well in D1AA. Now, with that, though, FSU did play 2 D1AA schools, and the ACC isn't some "BIG BCS" conference when you talk about scheduling. However, yes, FSU does have a better schedule, but here's the look, IMO:

NIU SCHEDULE (7 Gimmie or Easy, 3 Challenging or Better):
100% GIMME-GAME: UMASS, EMU, Akron
EASY TEAM: Buffalo, Army, Kansas, Tenn-Martin
COMPETITIVE TEAM: Iowa (L), CMU, WMU
CHALLENGING TEAM: Toledo, Ball State
RANKING TEAM: Kent State
ELITE TEAM: (None)

FSU SCHEDULE (5 Gimmie or Easy, 5 Challenging or Better):
100% GIMME-GAME: Murray State, Savannah State
EASY TEAM: Boston College, Maryland, S. Florida
COMPETITIVE TEAM: Wake Forest, Duke, Georgia Tech
CHALLENGING TEAM: NC State (L), Virgina Tech, Miami-FL
RANKING TEAM: Clemson
ELITE TEAM: Florida (L)

In the end, FSU should be ranked above NIU. No question. FSU had a tougher schedule -- YES. Was it leaps & bounds way above? No. I could see if one's thinking it's the early 90s or something. But it's not anymore. More parity, more toughness.

In Fact, if NIU played a tough MAC schedule (Kent State, Ohio, and Bowling Green in MAC East instead of 3 easy ones), and instead of blowing the game against Iowa losing to Georgia solidly, I would say that NIU would possibly about the same and arguably a bit tougher schedule than FSU did.

But that didn't happen. So let's just see what happens on the field, shall we? :)

This is getting old.
Let's play the game instead of the message board.
Would FSU like it better if we just handed them the trophy after we pissed in their face and say "you win"
