All these people that don't want to go to Dekalb, is that because they'd rather pay $100 a ticket to be in Soldier Field? Or is it because we're playing a name team when we're in SF, whereas we're playing Eastern Illinois in Huskie stadium?

I think it's mostly just the psychology of travel in the region. All roads lead to Chicago, most do it enough in a given year that it feels easy. One road gets to Dekalb and it's surrounded by corn. Unless you're in the western suburbs Dekalb isn't truly easy to get to, and even if you are in the western suburbs it just feels further.

Some won't pay $70+ to see NIU vs anyone in Dekalb, some won't pay that amount to see NIU play an EIU at SF.

It's a combination. And yeah, if you have a bunch of kids and live in Aurora/Naperville you are going to get your 10 cans of food and pay $35 for the family or a family pack. You are a recent grad or alumni with money (w or w/o kids), d-town you are going to go to SF.

Many persons who go to the SF plain and simple don't go to DeKalb, as some on here wont step foot in SF. Is what it is.

And truthfully, I DO prefer DEKALB personally.

How many people in Chicagoland live closer to SF in distance and time it takes?

The comment was that it's not easy to get to. plus in reality 15 miles west of Chicago to Chicago takes as long as going 40 miles west does. time and distance needed don't scale linearly on that regard.

Anywhere north and ne/lake not easy.near north and city is a crapshoot.south usually easy just takes more than an hr.

In general, not a hassle.perception and do people want to take the time.
