GO PITT!
Pitt is up 21-0 at the half against RU. AND, if Pit beats RU, then not only will RU likely be shut out from winning the BIG EAST (assuming that UL beats RU), but Pitt will have a chnce to beat USF (which will probs happen) and go bowling!

Keep up the good work in the 2nd half!

RE: GO PITT!
we could have a 4 way tie at 5-2 for the Big East title! I believe Louisville would go to the BCS in that case. UC would be 1-2 vs the other three, RU would be 1-2, SU would be 1-2 and UofL would be 2-1.

RU would be 2-1 but UL would own the head-to-head.

More interesting is is UC loses to UConn next week (sorry Bearcat!). In that case it's a perfect 3-way tie between UL / RU / SU, so the highest-ranked goes to the BCS...

Hahaha. YES! Sorry Bearcats, but I'm hoping for you guys to lose next week vs Uconn. Nothing personal, just selfish reasons for SU to get a share of the BE. Uconn is playing pretty good right now, so the Bearcats beter bring their A game.

If we win you still get the share of the Big East (if UofL wins).

I think Cuseroc is holding out hope for SU to win a 3-way tie and go to the Orange bowl... slim, but there IS a chance

better shot than before this week in that case it would come down to how far louisville falls this week as cuse might sneak into receiving votes

Sorry 7-5 team isn't leap frogging either Rutgers or Louisville. Especially since you need Louisville to win to even grab a share (we do too).

Ha! Probably true, considering the point totals last week were:
Louisville 898
Rutgers 756
Syracuse 3

...but but but we're #1 in my heart!

Seriously though, we will be a blocked FG returned for a TD short of going to a BCS game. It s*cks to get THAT close and not make it, but give the general direction of the program, I'll take it. 5 years ago we were one of the 10 worst teams in the country. If we win out bowl game, we will be on the cusp of being ranked, and, if anything, we are gaining momentum and still have a ways to go before we level out. That isn't bad. Yes, there have been some games where we were really lucky, but at the same time, there have been some games where we have been very unlucky. So, I don't think that you can write this season off to just "good luck," which is exciting.

The Big East has had a ton of close games, we very easily could have beaten UofL at their place too.

In 2009, Pitt mishandled an extra point attempt and lost to Cincinnati by one point. Cincinnati won the Big East and advanced to the Sugar Bowl.

Take solace.
