Good post EA but it's unrealistic to expect people not to discuss Cubit's status until the team does something to cement it or Kathy makes a statement one way or the other.

The late great Oklahoma coach Bud Wilkinson said, "Bad coaches get fired after four years.

"Good coaches get fired after eight years. It doesn't matter how much you've won or how good a guy you are. After awhile they just want somebody else."

I can't disagree with that.

I realize the subject will not die until we either win the MACC or BC is gone. There is no way around it.

It's not good enough anymore for WMU to "come close" and have a winning record.

and

A portion of our fan base really struggles with saying goodbye to a coach that brought us back from a 1-11 season, produced multiple NFL players, recruits well and has ran a very clean and respected program.

This isn't tough to understand fellas. There isn't anything that can be said or done by either side to sway one another. I said it last week, and I'll say it again...I trust our admin will make the best decisions for WMU. Debating this further is beating a dead horse and literally dividing an entire fan base that wants the same thing. We don't agree on how we can get there the fastest.

I completely agree with you. To many of us, it's kind of a Catch-22...
