That's the point of this whole thread. The three University of Louisiana schools are all facing monumental budget issues. The University of Louisiana in Lafayette and Louisiana Tech in Ruston have both been taking measure to strengthen their athletic programs by raising revenue from multiple sources and have been succeeding. Much smaller ULM has been dying on the vine while it's own students, who contribute relatively nothing to athletics, recently voted against even financially supporting athletics.

ULM, under Board of Regents guidelines, could have taken around $6,200,000 in taxpayer subsidy yet used only $4,280,000. None of the regional schools (ULL, Tech, ULM, etal) are allowed to charge student athletic fees except for some minor commitments made prior to implementation of the current rules.

If ULL and La Tech have taken these measures, why do they take 50% more from the taxpayers than does ULM who is dying on the vine?
How did the ULL and La Tech student votes turn out?
I would argue that ULM playing "home" games in Little Rock IS doing something about it...they are earning their own revenues as they can.
And Zeebart, the word you are looking for is "drivel"...except that the fact that ULL is dependent on the taxpayers for 50% of its athletic budget, while pointing fingers at others, is drivel only to you and those who prefer not to look it in the face.

Yeah, next time I'll just use the term bullsh*t which is what you are full of. ULM cannot afford to use anything excessive on athletics. They used that extra cash to keep the school afloat.
Sorry, it is what it is. Take your agenda elsewhere.

Neither Tech or UL has had student votes on athletic fees. How dependent was LSU for 75 years last century douche?

That depends upon what you describe as swearing, if this is a forum for Sesame Street then perhaps you might have a point. Whomever put a block on a word describing a female hygiene product is suffering from severe pussification!05-nono

Yeah, I guess ULM should be disgraced for using that extra money on academics rather than athletics like their sister schools ULL and La Tech. Shame on ULM Dont they know it is more important to satisfy the paltry fan bases at ULM, ULL, and La Tech than it is to use that money to avoid layoffs, program eleminations, etc. How dare they do that, dont they know the taxpayers may wise up some day and decide that is the right thing to do and kick all these wannabees down to their proper level. (Let me define "proper level" in this quick edit. It means whatever level a school can afford without bilking the taxpayers. For example, without taxpayer subsidy, ULL is at about the $8,000,000 budget level, La Tech about the same, ULM would be sandwiched b etween ULM and La Tech, they generate more revenue than Tech but less than ULL)

Well, if they truly are the same, a mod can do a quick IP Check/Match and we can lay it all to rest. I used to post as Admiral Ackbar and a UAB mod matched my IP to his. I enjoyed being humorous with Ackbar, but it takes the fun out if they know who you are.

I'm sorry if I was misunderstood, I was trying to be somewhat comical with that "caution" post (hence the Rambo photo). By trash bin I meant this would be headed over to the Smack Board, where all threads go to die.

I just want everyone to calm down and not get in to a flame war. you guys can type any curse word you want because the filter will get it so that's something we Mods don't usually have to worry about. I just dont wan't anyone insulting folks or working around the censor.

So I guess I amend the previous post with this one:
