Chicagoland Conferences
If you could only recruit one high school Conference for NIU football players in the Chicagoland area which would it be?
Curious what people think.

Good choices but I don't think many kids from the DuPage Valley want to come to NIU, doesn't seem like it anyway. Might have better luck in the West Suburban, especially Downers Grove North and South, Hinsdale South, Addison Trail, York, Proviso West, Oak Park. Glenbard West maybe but Hinsdale Central forget it, they're not coming.

Good choices. More praying could help when we need a last minute field goal. I know we wouldn't have lost the 2005 MACC.

Purely an interesting and fantasy league type Q. and fantasy reply paying no attention to whether or not many HS players would come to NIU.

Its more a Q about which conferences are stronger or have more D-1 prospects.

Remember the size of conference and the size of schools in conference partially gives shape to the question where more football recruits are found.

I'll take northwest suburbs. My friend from Barrington advised Barrington HS has the most D1 football players than any HS in the country over the past decade or some timeframe like that. Seems hard to believe given I grew up in that conference, but the source seemed credible. Maybe it was just the most scholarship football players in the country and a bunch go to DIII schools or something along those lines. Regardless, an impressive stat.

I don't think there's anyway that is true about Barrington High School, at least with regards to Division I (more specifically, FBS) players. There are schools in Texas, Florida, and California that would dwarf the numbers from Barrington (and any school within Illinois). Northwestern in Miami is one that immediately springs to mind.

I'm not sure Barrington would even rate that highly within Illinois. That's not a shot at Barrington (it's a good HS football program), but it doesn't place a lot of kids at FBS schools.

They do have an offensive lineman (Dan Voltz) who is going to be a legitimate big-time prospect next year.
