I also think 11am kickoff's are absolutely awful but if it's the only one of the year then oh well. I would hope that taking an 11am kickoff would at least get us as the MAC game of the week (exclusively) or a televised spot on ESPNU or something. It probably helps that I'll be on the east coast this weekend which means I'll have a 12pm kickoff haha. Perfect for a lunch BBQ while watching the game online.

11am start did not dampen enthusiasm at Illinois.

Huskie fans need to step up to the plate Saturday rather than linger in lots until halftime.

I doubt the ESREVER tailgating promo will appeal to or work well for too many fans.

I was actually planning tailgating after the game as well even before I saw the promo, just makes sense for an 11 am game, since it's still light out at 2 and should still be nice weather.

Too many fans think they need to be hammered before going inside the Stadium.

What a concept. Pace yourself and tailgate before and after the game.

Lord send me to hell some day but spare me from traveling in a parallel football universe in 2010.

It could have been worse. Akron won those games fair and square, even if it was just barely. At least NIU did not get screwed by the refs.

Blame NIU for not building bigger leads.

If you're talking about the crowd as a whole, the Big Ten teams and fans are used to playing at 11. They do it all the time.

Also, FWIW, the NIU group was far more boisterous than OSU's fans were this past Saturday. OSU, total, had more people than NIU did (although they were more spread out), but they were as quiet as I've ever heard them. NIU fans were pretty loud for most of the game, the OSU fans just didn't react to much. It was actually a little odd, they're usually loud and annoying. They only got loud when they scored and right at the end.

So good job to the NIU contingent from a few weeks ago. 04-cheers

Dear God Ohio State fans are idiots. I was at the Big 10 tournament for Illinois/Wisconsin this year (if you remember correctly the Evan Turner shot was the game right before), and those people were the most annoying and dumbest group of fans I've ever heard before. We were rooting for Michigan and after Turner hit the buzzer beat people were getting in our faces and pointing at us and stuff. It was insane.

Then I went to the Illinois/Ohio State game last week and those people were again some of the dumbest people I've ever met. The people sitting behind us asked us what Illinois was ranked (lol) before the game. I legit didn't get what he was asking the first couple times because of how stupid of a question that was. He was shocked when we told him they weren't ranked. After the brutal facemask call in the 2nd half we were complaining and more people told us to "stop cheating" that caused Flames to say something. The morons sitting behind us also didn't know Daniel Herron's name.

It's rare that I have problems with fan bases and I really like coach Tres and Pryor, but I'm 2 for 2 with Ohio State fans being dopes.

No shortage of "dopes" in most fan bases including NIU.

I will NEVER EVER forget overhearing in the third quarter of Ohio game in HS years ago the student seated next to me said: " Ohio State does not look as good today as they are in Rose Bowl. " ( I think NIU played at tOSU the week before)

As Lettermen often sez; "WHAT?"

Dumbness knows no bounds and visits fan bases weekly.

Careful when labeling fan bases for there are plenty of knowledgeable and "misinformed" fans among us all - just like the pool of registered voters who state some incredibly wise and equally stupid comments.

I pace myself. Like, 4 beers an hour. 2 beers within 10 beers of entering the game. Hey, it's a pace! 04-cheers

haha - I hope you didn't burst his bubble that he wasn't watching an Ohio State at NIU game. Althought if he is that unaware, he didn't have a bubble to be burst.

11am game? you guys are a 6 pack into the day, and I'm working on a large dunkin donuts coffee still,,maybe I'll go crazy Saturday and get a donut too :)
