Check out this MAC prediction
Saw this earlier - an NIU blogger got some other MAC bloggers to opine on this year's league race. To me, it wasn't all that impressive. OF course, most of them give WMU short shrift while stroking their own teams or just riding the concensus bandwagon.

He posted a link on the main MAC board here. Feel free to offer your feedback.

A direct link to his prediction post is here.

From my reading of it, few of these bloggers really know much about the situation at WMU other than what they've read - "lost almost the entire defense to graduation and will start a 'bunch of freshmen at DB.' That kind of insightful analysis.

Granted, I don't know much either but hearing Cubit say he sleeps well at night this year and that we are deeper at DB and WR than at any time since he has been here means something. He knows we're young overall but is excited about this group.

One reason WMU doesn't get much credit in that is because there isn't a WMU blogger.

RE: Check out this MAC prediction
Good that you guys chimed in as I've been too busy today to get back and see his question. Besides, you guys can better answer him, as you know more than I do. I couldn't remember if it was Lewis or Price that broke his arm at Idaho - and I was there to see him helped to the locker room. I knew about Dorcely.

My point to them was that we have a number of guys that not only have played but been around the program for at least a year. Not quite like the perception out there that we are starting four youngsters like in 2006. Thanks for backing it up with some solid info.

I hope the rest of the league's teams believe what those fans (bloggers) believe - that we will have an entirely new defense, pretty much totally untested and inexperienced.

I understand the venom from the CMu guy. I also get that the NIU people still have this belief that they are a better program and "should have" beaten us last year and the year before.

As for Toledo, I think that "hope and change" is their fans' mantra. They keep insisting that they will be vastly improved. Maybe so. Time will tell. We had their number lately under Toledo Tom - maybe it still is in the back of the players' minds.
