RE: ESPN Non-AQ Bowl Predictions
I know any bowl is a good bowl, but Toronto in January isn't high on my list.

Toronto is not that bad, there is a ton to do and its an Indoor game. The UB fans who went last year said it was great environment. The worst part about Canada is the blue laws..

Only been to Toronto once- in summer -and absolutely loved it.

Bowl game there in winter - which I loathe- still sounds great to me....

Right now airfares to Toronto range from $400-$600. To Buffalo--an hour or so away--about $170. You risk a blizzard, though.

RE: ESPN Non-AQ Bowl Predictions
Mark Schlabach & Bruce Feldman also have predictions:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowlprojec...009&week=0

GMAC
(ACC vs. MAC) Maryland vs. Buffalo / Maryland vs. Western Michigan

International
(Big East vs. MAC) Cincinnati vs. Western Michigan / Pittsburgh vs. Buffalo

Motor City

(MAC vs. Big Ten) Central Michigan vs. Minnesota / Central Michigan vs. Northwestern

Could you imagine a Maryland-NIU matchup in the GMAC Bowl?

You could to a Maple Leafs game too. Plus there are a lot of bars in Toronto.

Quote:International: Northern Illinois -- The Huskies got into the Independence Bowl in coach Jerry Kill's first season and will do better in his second? They're replacing all-everything end Larry English, but there's a lot of youth to build on.

is he ASKING if they will do better in his second? :)

trying to predict bowl matchups in august: stupid
trying to predict bowl matchups in december: more accurate, but still stupid
analysis of NIU's bowl chances in august: (you get the idea)

.... although i will say that its nice to know other people are expecting NIU to do something this year as the rest of us are.... (well, maybe not EVERYone)

RE: ESPN Non-AQ Bowl Predictions
Bucfan,

so true...even projections made in late November often prove incorrect as often as correct with bowls not having obvious tie ins.

Did you read the articles about how there could actually be "two Rose Bowls" when the title game in Pasedena follows the Rose Bowl game?

Some writers dare to suggest the impossible. A non BCS team finishing in top twelve could be playing in the Rose Bowl in two seasons.
