RE: NIU selling student tickets for $1 vs. Navy
Don't want to pay for parking? Get to the Convo lot 5 hours before gametime and head to the stadium for tailgating. No one is at the Convo to collect money until 3 or 4 hours before the game the last two times I parked there.

Or, do what my sister-in-law did and park at Lincolnshire for the CMU game. They could tow you though, but probably not.
Or, do what my brother-in-law did and part at Taco Bell for the CMU game.

Normally I park in the parking deck and walk for Saturday games - it's good exercise for all the food/drinks I will consume at tailgating.

or do what I did for the last baketball game:

Me: "Hello miss. We are students"

Parking Attendant: "I am sorry, You still have to pay... It will be $3"

Me: "You're kidding me right?"

Parking Attendant: "haha no I am sorry"

Me: *Drive right through to parking lot anyways*

I got the same message!

Anybody know if there will be any buses from Great Lakes for the Navy trainees? It would be great to see them fill up section a.

Now thats awesome....shows he really is trying to make the effort to get NIU back on the map for football

The best way for him to do it would be to get our games back on Saturdays so people who live far away, have to work for a living, and/or have family matters to attend to can attend the games. My letter to NIU was nice and cordial. My letter to the MAC will not be so nice and cordial. 04-chairshot

Can somebody confrim or deny that you can get tickets for $1 at the gate if you are not a student??? I was thinking of inviting some friends who could be persuaded if they can get in for a buck.

Nigel Incubator-Jones Wrote:Have to agree here. When I buy season tickets I look at it as supporting the program. We are just trying to do the best with the tough marketing of weekday games. We all hate it but I am resigning myself to accepting it and trying to enjoy the game. Bitching wears me down.

For crying out loud, how can anybody complain if they already purchased a full price ticket for the game. You're supporting your alma mater's perpetually cash-strapped athletic program for crying out loud. Plus the regular price of a football ticket is dirt cheap to begin with. Let NIU have the few extra bucks. Maybe spring for a NIU managed parking spot too. Saving $5 to park 1/2 mile away on a frigid and dark November night?? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
