That was definitely one of the toughest things too look at, and when the choir would sing and they would play back pictures of around the area and town as well. It was a good job by the university.

RE: Memorial Tonight
Obama was there- arrived a few minutes late- ducked in after the invocation- like a guy late for church (a feeling I can relate to). So he just made it in from Toledo.

I watched the memorial service online and was very moved by all of the images and words of encouragement. I'm left with the feeling that the NIU community is stronger then ever. Forward, together forward.

Being a US Senator from IL, it is good he appear. Being a candidate for the Democratic nomination, it is good he didn't speak and draw attention away from the memorial service (i.e., to his campaign).

Have to agree 100%. I watched it online too, and it reaffirmed by pride in our school. I've never been more proud to be an NIU Alum than I am right now.

We are NIU

RE: Memorial Tonight
i watched it on tv, I was originally going but I waiting for one of my best friends who I never heard anything from and went over about 6. Everyone else that I was originally going to go with were inside already and I was outside in line by myself and I just couldn't stand being by myself and ended up going back to my dorm to watch, it seemed like they did a good job

I think Ryan Diem was there also sitting next to Joe Novak. When I get back from class I will put the picture up and you can all tell me if you also think it was him.

RE: Memorial Tonight
Am I getting too overly sentitive with this item?

Is the image simply one of unfortunate timing?

I received over the weekend a slick multipage promo piece for HASF. It felt so good to have something in the day's mail from NIU and news not about the tragedy.

The inside cover has a great foto of JP presenting Coach Kill with an NIU football jersey as is so common everywhere in such moments.

The name "KILL" from the large jersey leaped off the page and directly into my soul.

For that one brief and frozen moment - my mind only had wished that the jersey was lettered J. Kill
