RE: Quintan Lipkins transfers to...
anyone who considered lipkins "one of our better players" don't know squat about hoops. he was undersized, had suspect handles, couldn't or wouldn't guard and stop penetraton, was iffy at best as a shooter, couldn't get into the lane himself and did not make the guys with him on the floor better players........he was a tiny, shoot first point guard who did poorly running the offense and had waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy too many turnovers...to top it off, he sulked, was selfish and didn't cheer his teammates on when he was on the bench (which is where he belonged for most MAC matchups)...........glad he landed on his feet as he was probably a nice enough kid but he was NOT a D1 basketball player..........it is nice he can be close to home and play somewhere that will pay his way to school so he ougtta be happy the way it turned out.

He had a turnover rate of 38%!!! Over a third of his possessions he would turn the ball over. Worst on the team. And he only played 36.8% of the time. I don't recall even going to a basketball game last year in protest of Judson.

Yet somehow he was an McDonald's All-America Game nominee. Something tells me if he was almost good enough to make the McDonalds All-America team, he could not have been as bad as you and some others make him out to be. I am thinking that it was what several other former players have implied: coaching sucked. If you are wondering where I got the McDonalds All Ammerican stuff, check the following link. Seems to me it should be a reliable source. 03-wink

There are 1500 McDonald's All America NOMINEES each year ..........there are only 327 Division I basketball programs that give 13 scholarships per year...thus, in any one year there are about 1062 scholarships given out..........so more than 2 out of 3 (or 8 or 9 per roster) D1 players are about that good......if you noticed, he was not even ALL STATE....just all district so don't act like he was some great player that coaching ruined.....recruiting him probably was a huge mistake that cost the coaching staff their jobs...he couldn't play in the MAC............or anywhere else in D1...

Are the McDonalds kids just seniors? If they aren't, your math kind of goes out the window.

But I agree Limpkins wasn't much of player and jud screwed that one up when they brought him in.

Another slightly different twist on QL:

He practiced and played hard - no jokes please.

He tried to contribute and did what he could and made small progress from yr one to year two.

He made the right decision for himself and I wish him well.

Thanx for your efforts, QL. Good Luck and enjoy playing close to home.
