RE: Remaining season prediction
I saw much of Temple vs BGSU.
Had Owls not made the same mistakes as do the Huskies, it could have been a ballgame.
_____________

During preseason I stated every game would be an adventure - including Temple.
Novak labeled this team as a mystery in August.
Only mystery remaining is why we don't like ourselves. It's the only rational explanation for giving away games in which Huskies implode like a suicide terrorist.

I will be pleased but surprised if we can avoid losing this next game.

Like others I had hoped for a season @ or above .500. I am certain that cannot happen now.
Huskies go 2-10 maybe 3-9 at best.

Lord am I thankful my boss was fired in June. I will not need to accompany the UW grad I invited to join me in Madison. We had a somewhjat unpleasant exhange regarding the game during the Spring and I would not have enjoyed eating crow off the grill Oct 20.

Perhaps we can upset Navy or salvage some dignity beating BSU should Cards be in hunt for MAC West title.

6-6... I know, I'm dreaming.

Your prediction actually makes sense, so you know it can not possibly come about, because this season just doesn't seem to make any sense.

Dreaming or hallucinating while under the influence of potent , mind altering illegal drugs?

Having faith and optimism while supporting the team thru hard times is commendable but lacking in coping with certain realities is not so admirable.

RE: Remaining season prediction
In case you haven't heard, Aaron Opelt left with a lower leg/ankle injury in the first half of our game against WMU Saturday and had a cast on and crutches. Later in the 2nd half Clint Cochran seperated his right throwing shoulder pretty bad. We had to pull the redshirt off of true freshman DJ Lenehan to play the rest of the game. He is going to be our starter Saturday. The only other QB on the roster is true freshman Travaris Cadet he was also going to redshirt, but could quite possibly play now. So, we have two possibilities at QB for at least the next few weeks if not the rest of the season. And the most likely guy to move to QB from another postion broke his hand in the WMU game.

Three of our senior starters on defense got hurt in the season opener against Purdue, DE Sean WIlliamson, FS Tyrrell Herbert, and DB Nigel Morris.......and are all out for the season. They are all petitioning the NCAA for a medical hardship to try and come back next year as seniors. That leaves one starting senior on the defense, but then again as bad as our defense has been I am not sure that is a good thing for next year. 03-banghead

So for the 2nd consecutive season we are playing true freshmen at QB because of injuries. Given our defense, nobody on our schedule should be thinking a game against us is a toss up. We are looking to be 1-11 this year! 03-weeping

Sorry to hear that you are in the same boat, Rocket. I guess misery love company. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out why two of the most dominating teams in the MAC over the past seven years (and frankly by wins- all of CFB), are respectively looking at 1-11 seasons. At least I have the bears...

Okay, stop before everyone throws stats out the ying-yang to me!

Because every team eventually has a down year. Only 18 other teams have had the streak of winning seasons we have. It's bound to happen when you have a rash of injuries. We, unfortunately, were due. The positive of this team is the youth. Most of this teams players are 18 and 19 years old. They have a lot of room to mature.

We certainly feel your pain, RF. Maybe all the Rockets and Huskies fans should get together halfway between Toledo and DeKalb, raid some local bar, "toast" our misery, and get pass-out drunk...with our memories returning long after the football season is over.

But, I do disagree with you about your projection of a 1-11 record. Remember, you have yet to play the Huskies. At least you will have something else to celebrate this year! 03-weeping

You know what I really feel bad about? The top two classiest, most nationally-respected MAC coaches are going through a living hell. These two guys just don't deserve it.

'07 record will probably be 2-10. We'd better pump more money into hiring and retaining the coaching staff and disciplining the kiddies on their performance.

I was wrong about Temple. I can't see any more wins for the remainder of the season. :ncaabbs:

Didn't somebody on this board claim the day after the Southern Illinois loss that we would be 5-2 facing Wisconsin....and have a chance to win that game?

shows you how much credibility to put into message board posts.
