chalk up today's last second blunders to the players, not the coaches. they panicked and what did we see? two holding calls and a low field goal kick. if they execute, we walk out of the stadium happy. the play calling was fine. the execution was horrible.

We NEVER should have needed a last second FG to win this game in the first place.

Well I sure hope we would not get blown out by EMU???????. This is a bad team. This has been coming though a blind man could have seen it for the last few years. We are heading back to the bottom fast.

It's like I suspected. We were lucky enough to get a good group of players in 2002-2003. Each year some of those players graduated and the team gradually got worse. Now we're back where we started. We have no playmakers. We'd be better on defense if not for all the injuries. But we still need DBs who can make a play at least occasionally and we are totally unable to get any pressure on the QB. Nicholson, though he's not very good, never has as much time as the opposing QB does. Many of us decried the complete lack of size on defense especially upfront. Speed alone is not sufficient and doesn't make up for being pushed around by a larger O-line. On offense, we have no one. Maybe Anderson, but we need a goto WR and we don't have one.

I think that we are in bad shape for years with the d linemen we have. It is not going to be pretty. Why throw the ball when you can get 5-6 yards per carry?

If Britt Davis doesn't drop a touchdown pass, there is no last drive where we sh!t on ourselves.

EMU missed two field goals and plenty of guys wide open who dropped passes.
I hate how every time it is 3rd down that get a 1st down.
2 Sacks in 3 Games !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 Turnover
This Defense is bad.

Injuries are the main reason why the last two games were very close!

Yeah, injuries are why Britt Davis dropped a sure TD.
And injuries are why Nicholson hit the cheerleaders instead of a wide open Turner on the two-point conversion.
And injuries are why we got flagged twice for holding on the last drive.

Whatever.

There is a troubling tendency to not make the one big play that wins the close games. The Northwestern game: right decision to go for 2 but terrible play call with Wolfe not even on the field. The infamous 3rd and 30 vs Toledo. Not getting into the endzone from on 4 plays from inside the 5 vs. Toledo in the fog. The long bomb vs. Akron and on and on.

<sigh>
