Is this one of the worst all star rosters ever...in both leagues. There are so many players who are just so...average. Im gonna give you fine folks the pleasure of seeing my breakdown of both all star rosters.

NL Starters
Javy Lopez Atlanta C - having a great year...he is deserving im just pissed at myself for cutting him from my fantasy team way too early

Todd Helton Colorado 1B - cant disagree with this one but im old school I would rather see Bagwell even if he is struggling

Marcus Giles Atlanta 2B - blah having a decent year but not that good (and im a big Giles fan), even though I hate Jeff Kent he should be here instead

Scott Rolen St. Louis 3B - not a bad pick, but Lowell maybe more deserving

Edgar Renteria St. Louis SS - I cant disagree with this one Renteria is having a great year but no one and I mean no one saw this coming

Barry Bonds San Francisco OF - its Barry Frikin Bonds need I say more? the only true elite player on this roster

Albert Pujols St. Louis OF - can you say Triple Crown? at 23 years old nonetheless

Gary Sheffield Atlanta OF - no doubt Sheff belongs

Reserves

Aaron Boone Cincinnati 3B - having a solid year but dont you think that Kearns or Dunn were more deserving candidate from Cincy? maybe they somehow confused him with Brett Boone

Jim Edmonds St. Louis OF having a great year...St. Louis sure does have a great offense...perhaps they are this years Anaheim angels

Rafael Furcal Atlanta SS - hes ok but is he really the second best shortstop in the NL???

Luis Gonzalez Arizona OF - best guy from Arizona being that that the whole frikin team is injured

Andruw Jones Atlanta OF - no arguments

Paul Lo Duca Los Angeles C - Lo Duca is a solid player

Mike Lowell Florida 3B - great year

Richie Sexson Milwaukee 1B Thome should be on this team

Jose Vidro Montreal 2B - a really good player but I dont really care about Jose Vidro

Rondell White San Diego OF - Rondell White??? Is this the first time he has ever been healthy at this point in the season? I cant believe he is only 31 seems like he has been around forever...anyways San Diego really sucks I guess he is there best player :laugh

Preston Wilson Colorado OF great year - I got him on my fantast team...I knew he was gonna tear it up Colorado

Pitchers

Armando Benitez New York RP - how in the world Does Armando "the biggest loser in the world" Benitez get on this team??? If the Mets have to have someone it should be Burnitz I guess...

Kevin Brown Los Angeles SP - you mean he aint hurt yet?

Shawn Chacon * Colorado SP - I guess anyone who can win 10 games in Colorado by the break is an All Star even with a mediocre 4.27 ERA

Eric Gagne Los Angeles RP - Along with Smoltz the best closer in the game

Russ Ortiz Atlanta SP - how the heck does this guy get in over Willis?

Mark Prior Chicago SP - first of many All Star games for Prior dare I say Tom Seaver?

Jason Schmidt San Francisco SP - seems to have finally figured out how to pitch instead of just trying to blow everyone away

John Smoltz Atlanta RP - see Gagne

Billy Wagner Houston RP - almost on the level with Gagne and Smoltz

Mike Williams Pittsburgh RP - no one with an ERA over 6 should be an allstar even if their team blows goats

Woody Williams St. Louis SP - having a great year, hes on my fantasy team and I just know that he is going to fall apart in the secon half

Randy Wolf Philadelphia SP - Is really having a better year than Milwood? Coulda fooled me but ill assume that they are right

Kerry Wood Chicago SP - If Prior is Seaver than Wood is the Rocket II

AL Starters

Jorge Posada New York C - cant argue here even though I hate the ****in Yankees

Carlos Delgado Toronto 1B - another triple crown hopefull

Alfonso Soriano New York 2B - great player, no arguementst though I think he should be batting 3rd instead of leadoff (he doesnt walk at all)

Troy Glaus Anaheim 3B - really slumping the past several weeks but is still the most deserving 3rd basemen

Alex Rodriguez Texas SS - Its Arod hes gonna be the AL starting shortstop for the next 10 years

Ichiro Suzuki Seattle OF - Ichiro is awesome

Hideki Matsui New York OF - lots of people have beef with this one but I dont he has 64 RBI and is batting .311 he doesnt have the Homeruns but I think he is a great player...kind of a throwback to the days when you didnt have to hit a ton of homers to get a ton of RBI

Manny Ramirez Boston OF - the closest thing the AL has to Slammin Sammy minus the cork  people said he had a bad year last year but he batted .350 and one a batting title he may be the best right handed hitter in the game today, including Sosa because Sosa has never come close to challenging for a batting crown

Edgar Martinez Seattle DH maybe the best DH ever and is having another great year despite pushing 80

Reserves

Garret Anderson Anaheim OF - I cant believe this is only his 2nd Allstar game...one of the most underrated players around

Hank Blalock Texas 3B - Having a great year but I dont think Hank Blalock is an Allstar...

Bret Boone Seattle 2B - currently proving that 2001 season wasnt a fluke

Carl Everett Chicago OF - He's having a great year...how soon until he kills someone in Chitown?

Nomar Garciaparra Boston SS - Some would argue that Nomar should be starting over Arod

Ramon Hernandez Oakland C - are you kidding me? I guess he does have 11 homers...but a lowsy 37 RBI

Melvin Mora Baltimore OF Melvin is leading the AL in batting but he shouldnt be the only Oriole on this team

Mike Sweeney Kansas City 1B somehow KC doesnt suck this year so he isnt the only Royal who deserves it this year

Vernon Wells Toronto OF - :eek:wow his numbers are nearly as good as Delgados  could be the first of many allstar games

Dmitri Young Detroit OF - ya gotta have one lowsy Tiger on the team...that team really blows goats

Pitchers

Lance Carter Tampa Bay RP picking up a few saves on a really bad team does not an allstar make, the representative for the D-Rays shoulda been Baldelli or Aubrey Huff

Brendan Donnelly Anaheim RP - call me old school but great middle reliever does not = Allstar

Keith Foulke Oakland RP - closer is the most overrated position in all of sports

Eddie Guardado Minnesota RP - I dont think the Eddie Guardado should be the only Twin on the team

Roy Halladay Toronto SP - cant argue with this one

Shigetoshi Hasegawa Seattle RP see Donnelly

Esteban Loaiza Chicago SP see Halladay

Mike MacDougal Kansas City RP hes been a good closer this year...blah...who cares?

Jamie Moyer Seattle SP - hes been Greg Maddux like for the past 5 years or so...I cant believe this is his first all star at 40

Mark Mulder Oakland SP hes having a good year but not sure if he belongs this year

C.C. Sabathia Cleveland SP Cleveland has to have someone...I think it shoulda been Milton Bradley

Barry Zito Oakland SP - this spot should have gone to the O's Sidney Ponson

Russ Ortiz is the man. Willis deserves to be there but not over Ortiz. Mike Williams is the guy that didn't deserve to be there.

Mike Williams is there because Pittsburg needed a representative. Russ Ortiz is good, but I dont think he should be in the Allstar game if for no other reason than because there are six other braves already on the team, some of whom (Furcal and Giles) perhaps he should be on the team instead of. The Allstar game is about who the fans want to see and I would much rather see Willis than Ortiz, nothing against Ortiz of course but Willis just seems to be more exciting.

Well, Dusty says Willis is next in line. I think we'll see him.
