My vote goes to Michael Nylander. Caps look like crap without last year's 5th place scorer. 9-19-1-1 without him all season.

100% agree. MacInnis in a close second.

Jocelyn Thibault has to be second. Since Nov 10th (when he went on IR) Blackhawks have gone 1-10-3-2!

But they should be in first. MacInnis is one of the best defensemen in the league, and the Blue will go nowhere in the spring without him.

Don't forget they also lost Jackman to shoulder strain and Doug Weight to a groin injury and are still in 2nd. He wasn't holding the team together like Thibault. They didn't take a nose dive when MacInnis went out.

My point is you have to have defense to win in the playoffs. His presence will be missed if he is not ready for the playoffs.

But is he the second biggest loss to an injury? The answer is no.

In the playoffs, he will be #1.
