From what I hear and what ESPN now says...talks between the O's and Ivan have broken down because of promised money for the first 2 years and a no-trade contract. So now Javy has become the main target for much cheaper

Right. From what I had heard from people. Ivan and Vlad were just about all setup AND that Ivan was the already done deal and Vlad was working on small details. Guess Pudge wanted some extra $$

if there was no way the O's could get Pudge, then this signing will have to do. but if the O's still had a shot at Pudge, then this deal is a big mistake. Giving a guy that kind of money, off of a career/walk year, is always a problem.

Just a note, Boras f-ed Pudge over big time on this deal. A worded deal WAS DONE with Ivan/O's but they backed out and wanted more money

The O's will regret signing Javy. Mark my words.

Well, the Cubs have Barrett so they wont make an offer. One team that I can confirm has contacted IROD is Detroit of all teams. Texas has also inquired but I doubt them....its a darn good question. If Texas dumps AROD, Texas will go after Ivan....OR..if the Dodgers dump or decide to mova LoDuca..they will also go after Ivan. I have also heard that the O's may still go after him but I just dont see that coming into play
