The game is on the line and you can pick any current player in baseball to be at bat with a chance to win the game? Who would you choose?

Even though there are many better players, I'm going with Derek Jeter. For whatever reason, Jeter is money in the clutch. I can't remember the last time he didn't come through when the Yankees needed him (especially in the playoffs).

Good question. I might have to go with Jeter, too. But I think I'm going to say Barry Bonds. As hard as it is to believe, he's become one of the game's best clutch hitters later in his career. The knock on him early in his career was that he couldn't hit in the clutch. But after what he did in the 2002 playoffs, and seeing all the game-winning home-runs he's hit lately, I think he's really matured into a big-time clutch hitter.

That's true. Barry did kill the Braves on back-to-back nights last August. :bang:

One of the greatest Giants moments ever. Bonds comes back from being with his ill father. The Braves bring in ray King and Bonds launches a splash hit.

Enjoy (listen to the commentary):http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/sf/ballpark/sf_ballpark_splashhits.jsp

Yeah, I remember that. Absolutely horrendous managing by Bobby in that series. In the first game, Bonds hits a walk-off homer, then two nights later, in the bottom of the ninth, Bobby pitches to him again! I don't have to explain what happened then. :bang:

Put Shannon Stewart on the Yankees, and it would be him. Great clutch player that nobody knows about.

according to dick cramer, clutch hitting doesn't exist. he said there's no evidence to suggest that players hit differently in one situation compared to another.

BS! Look at Mark Lemke with the Braves in the early 90's. The guy couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat in the regular season. But put him in the World Series, and he became Tony Gwynn. I disagree with Cramer.
