I'm not exactly sure whats going on in hockey, but I've heard that there is a strike that could last up to 2 years. If there is a strike, what will happen to the draft picks? Why dont teams just trade all their draft picks in next years draft , which might not even happen, for good players and try to win this year?

I can't decide what was worse, the content or the grammar.

If you are an owner, you gotta play the game assuming that there will be a season next year. I see what you are saying, and some top teams may unfortunately do that.

I think that the NHL Entry draft is before the expiration of the CBA so there still will be a draft for 2004 (at the RBC center!). Also, regardless of the stoppage, the AHL will continue playing meaning that anyone drafted in 2004 will develop in the minors during the lockout. Also, if you trade a draft pick for a player and there is a lock out, you still have to pay their salary despite the fact they are not playing any games. And if there is a lockout in 2004, there still will be the 2005 draft and I'm guessing it will either be a 30 team lottery or using the same order as the 2004 draft. Just cause the NHL stops doesn't mean the rest of the hockey world slams on the breaks. There's still the WHL, AHL, Europe, ECHL, and college just to name a few. Anyways, there seems to be a positive out look for reaching a new CBA in time.
