Shouldn't dampen their playoff run to much. Sounds like he'll be back in time.

DETROIT (Ticker) - Detroit Red Wings center Kris Draper, who is in the midst of a career season, will be sidelined a month due to a partially torn rotator cuff, the team announced Wednesday.

Draper suffered the injury during a Wednesday morning skate.

The 32-year-old Draper has career highs with 24 goals and 40 points in 65 games. He ranks second in the NHL with five shorthanded goals and is in the top 10 with a team-best plus-22 rating.

Draper is in 13th NHL season - 11th with Detroit. He had played in each of the team's 229 games over the past three campaigns and missed only seven since 2000-01.

The Red Wings began Wednesday with a league-best 37-17-9-2 mark.

Still a big hit, rotator cuffs have a history of being nagging injuries that take longer than expected to get healthy.

The injuries continue in Detroit. This has been a season full of injuries. Almost everyone on the roster has missed significant time with at least 1 injury.

not in hockey. You have rotator cuff surgery and in hockey you're back out there pretty quickly.

Are you? I can remember in the playoffs a while back that somebody was supposed to be out a couple of weeks, ended up missing the postseason.
