Duke Lacrosse
http://www.cnn.com/2007/LAW/04/11/duke.l...index.html

Its nice to know that this experience has opened their eyes to a world of injustice 05-sosad

You think that these new heroes will restrain themselves from having any black hooker parties in the future? I mean now that they know that such innocent behavior can be taken so terribly out of context by a biased media, and over zealous prosecutor. Don't get me wrong I am glad that they aren't being convicted for a crime that they didn't commit. I am however a little sick of hearing about how these were good kids who had their lives destroyed by lies and politics. I mean seriously this team had a sheet that would have made Pac Man Jones blush and that is a big part of why this story struck the nerve it did. They weren't given the benefit of the doubt not because they were white and well off financialy, but because they were as a group engaging in reckless and criminal behavior on a semi regular basis. Would anyone believe the Cincinnati Bengals if a similar incident occured?

Duke threw them all under the bus, and Duke should pay
Let's start with the TOTALLY INNOCENT lacross coach who gave 16 years to the program. Why was he fired? The silence out of Duke is telling.

And the three players as well as the rest of the team who were all thrown under the bus as well. Can you say 30 plus civil suits.

This is a classic example of how libs buy into liberal templates. "Rich white males rape a poor, struggling African American college student." Not one of these azzclowns from Duke bothered to look at the evidence. All they saw was their elitist version of what they think a "racist must look like." It fit their template, and that was good enough to label these kids guilty and throw them under the bus. Payback time Duke. Starting with the president, and a few professors, who prompted students to taunt and protest the actions of the lacrosse team. These people need to pay either monitarily or with their job. However, as Dennis Miller said last night, "nothing will happen to the professors, as tenure will protect them. Being a college professor is the last bastion for aging hippies."

Tenure can't be as strong as whatever force protects non funny, washed up, hack comedians like Dennis Miller.

Now to the point at hand Dip which you completely bypassed because it isn't as easy to deal with as your liberal bashing Hannity style talking points. These were not good kids and they put themselves in this situation by bringing black hookers err exotic dancers to one of their infamous get-togethers. They have a rep for bad behavior on their coaches watch btw. A coach who let far more incidents occur under his watch than Brian Kelly did while at CMU, and you attack him at every opportunity. It was easy to believe this story not because liberals hate white people, but because these kids were constantly breaking the law and behaving like delinquents.

again you can't deal with the topic at hand. I NEVER SAID THEY WEREN'T INNOCENT 03-idea 03-idea 03-idea

I never said that they should be convicted for a crime if they didn't commit it. I only resent their hero status among the frustrated foxnews crowd.

Their parents went on 60 minutes and said that this could happen to anyones son. Well no it couldn't because I don't invite hookers to a house party, and I am not on a team with a list of offenses that could have gotten Barry Switzer fired. So it couldn't have happened to me. Or most decent people who obey the law and don't look at Animal House as a serious option for personal conduct.

So, Liam you can excuse the rush to judgement against these guys because they have a history of bad behavior?

Even though they certainly were not models of ideal behavior, there is no excuse for the way the entire team was thrown under the bus, all in the name of certain folks pushing their own agenda, due process be damned.

I'm aware of the allegations of lots of behavior issues with this team (but not the particulars). However, if the coach is to be fired there really should be some substantial reason for it that was within his control. He was sacrificed for the PC crowd and does not desire to fight it, apparently.

Bad behavior goes on around college campuses nationwide. Perhaps these rich boys were used to getting away with it. But it still is no reason for them to be convicted before the facts were clear.

What I'm waiting for is to hear an apology from the Duke 88 (faculty) to the team, the families and the student body for their fanning the flames. I'm not holding my breath.

In general, my observation is that outraged libs (like these profs) are the first to call for apologies and firings of others who have offended them. When THEY fu@k up, all we hear is silence.

My issue is not with how they were treated by the media, prosecution, faculty, etc... It isn't right to convict people in the media. I don't care if it is Duke Lacrosse players or Gary Condit. My issue is that now they turned out not to be rapists we have to act like they still aren't scum bags.

Oh right I forgot they were at a party with stripers. Just boys being boys Dude. 04-rock

The fact that it was a private party where they brought in these hookers/strippers. That they had 16 police incidents to their credit, might have been part of their perception problem. Maybe even as much as being white males.

The rich little preppie kids weren't convicted by the overzealous prosecutor and the mentally ill girl who claimed that she was viciously gang raped at a party where she was paid to be a stripper/prostitute for a group of underage lacross team players.

Wow, just REEKS of metaphors, wonder which ones are accurate.

Those poor kids, that poor girl, those misguided DA's.....what a bunch of crap. I'm sure in the middle the truth lies somewhere, but nobody in this scenario is pristine or deserving of the accolades, IMO.

Granted, they put themselves in a position for something bad to happen. Do you think that they are the only college boys that have ever had a party and hired strippers? I highly doubt it.

So glad for you, Liam that you never did anything dumb while you were young. These guys did and have really paid for it by going through hell for a year. Last I checked, stupidity isn't a crime. Even stupidity when you have a record isn't criminal. Even repeated stupidity isn't criminal.

You may call them scum bags. By your definition then, many of today's college age kids fit your description. The culture of our youth today has coarsened compared to when I was that young.

These guys aren't heroes. Neither I nor anybody else that I've heard or read are painting them as such.

I dunno, his team was breaking NCAA rules maybe? Underage drinking, hiring strippers/ho's (hey Imus?), I'm sure that there MAY have been some rules infractions there, as well as all the others that are being reported.

Girl lied (3rd times she's done this by the way), tried to use that lie to put 3 kids in jail for 30 years. In the process that lie cost a coach his job, and three families, a million dollars apiece in needless legal expenses. No due process, just guilt by association.........see ya coach, you're gone. I'm sure if we put everyones life under a microscope we will find that their life/job performance was not prestine. In this case, it took the lie of a dirtbag loser to get rid of a coach, who MAY (you or I dont know) not have been as diligent in the oversight of his players as he should be.

She lied, but the relevant point was that his team was having a party with underage drinking where they hired a stripper. No MAY in that at all.

The accuser even if mentally ill is deserving of severe punishment for what she tried to do, but the accusation was made credible by these kids behaving the way they did before hand. And yes mile high I did many stuipd things when I was younger, but I never brought hookers to a house party or anything else on their list of transgressions. I don't have alot of sympathy for their plight because they are responsible for how they were/are precieved.

The relavant point???????

Okay, I'd guess in any given year there are a half million underage college students drinking at parties (probably a conservative estimate). So what.

The relavent point is that a dumbazz piece of chit tried to put 3 people in jail for 30 years by telling lies and wasting the legal systems time. The relevant point is that a prosecutor, desperate to get elected, used an overzealous PC media to promote HIS agenda, while ignoring the evidence before him.

To say that underage drinking is relevant, is like saying like blaming Remington fire arms for Kennedy's assassination (if they didnt make that gun, this wouldnt have happened). The waitresses at the Shaboom Room are culpable, because they served Jerry Seymour 1 too many drinks.

She lied, the prosecutor lied, and that's what's relevant. The other stuff is all but meaningless.

Never mind that these idiots brought her into their lives by being the assheads that they were. It is everybody elses fault that this happened to them. No personal responsability for bringing the unbalanced hooker over for a few drinks and a good time with the boys. Nah this all the fault of a prosecutor who was so desperate to advance his political carrer that now more than half the country thinks he should not be allowed in a courtroom again, and a crybaby faculty that was too quick to come down on these upstanding young men.

Gee, I thought she was a college student who as a sideline was a stripper for hire. Hooker you say???? The media told us she was an unfortunate college student who was raped by some awful rich lacross players from Duke. How did she go from college student, to stripper, to hooker?

Oh I get it.........now that she's gone from victim to villian, shes also gone from "college student" to "hooker." How convenient.

I guess they called up the escort service and asked for a black single mother, college student struggling to get by. No that doesn't seem like the kind of thing an escort service would deliver. What they will do is bring you and the fellas a hooker if you pay them. Or stripper if you believe these ladies have a line of morality that they just won't cross lmfao . This one didn't seem to worried about it if her past is any indication.

Whatever portrayl she recieved from the media (not the issue) is not something that the lacrosse frat would have really cared about when they were planning their evening activities and is thus irrelavent.

Ann/Hannity, you asked why the coach was fired, I answered. THAT was the relevant point to which I was speaking to.

Fact was, they broke the rules, the coach got fired for THAT, not because they were indicted for a gang rape. Not saying I agreed or thought what she did was right at all, it was many thousand times wrong, but when you lie down with dogs, you sometimes wake up with fleas. Way it is.
