Couch on todays scrimmage. Burdi showing up
http://www.wmubroncos.com/ViewArticle.db...LID=850262

Sorry, I havent had a chance to get to a practice. Have been occupied with some family health concerns the past week. I'll make next weeks scrimmage.

Couch's comments about Burdi dont surprise me. He's got some wheels, and a good arm. Simply a matter of decision making, confidence, and experience. I think Hiller gets the nod, but wouldnt be surprised to see DB move into the 2 spot. Anyway you slice it, we've got some talent at QB for the next 3 years.

By the way OldB made a valid point. Rather than cut and paste Couch's blog, it's better to link it. Mlive wants the hits, or his blog will be no more.

Chip there is nop doubt that w/out receivers (Jennings/Scheffler) who can seperate a bit we will miss RC a bunch.

I hope one of the guys takes the bull by the horns and takes this job.

It will be interseting to see the new kid. He seems like a steal. When Buchalter ( Orlando Sentinel recruiting guru) says he could've played w/any of the Big 3 in Florida thats pretty powerful stuff.

It does sound like Jamarko is going to be able to get open this year. We can use him the same way we used Greg, throw him a 3 yard mesh route and let him go the other 75 yards or get him 1 on 1 or even against cover 2 and throw him the post corner and let him go make a play. Both are throws that a monkey can make and are the throws the Hiller made during his freshman year. Sounds like with the other receiver or two stepping up we will be looking at alot of mesh routes(crossing), wr screen(bubble and jailbreak), a few option routes for jamarko still an easy read for any qb, we need to find a TE that can pull a saftey for us and keep other teams with 7 in the box, running game should be better than ever (two horses and one scat back) and a great D. I will take my chances with the broncos.

Where did the term "scat back" come from? Scat is another name for poop, is it not?

Just wondering.

it is another name for errorhead... Not sure when they started using it to refer to running backs. The only other definition that of the word that is even close has to do with the word being used as a verb like fleeing. Leave it to whinny to bring in animal pop... 04-bow

Jamarko will be huge in this offense and BC will use him bigtime. I don't see him getting the long ball seperation that we saw in GJ years, most notably the CMU game amonst others. We need a breakaway guy w/the QBS we have. Perhaps Spider will save us.

Someone needs blocking software on their TV in order to prevent surfing all that porn. 04-jawdrop

Scatback was a small, light halfback capable of using speed and quickness to avoid the defence. You should remember those players from the days of the straight T offence.
