I haven't heard much about next years schedule. I don't see us on the any of the preseason tournament websites yet. I believe we should have one or two return visits on some home and homes. Possibly Northwestern at home and at San Diego State?

And we'll go to Valpo in return for the Bracket Buster. That actually will be a benefit for us next year as Valpo is moving to the Horizon League from the Mid-Con. The Horizon is a better-rated conference.

And if the Detroit series is still on, it's our turn to travel to the D next year.

Some info in this article from today.

Quote:This is needed, the coach said, to take on what he hopes is another difficult nonleague schedule aimed at making the Broncos NCAA Tournament at-large contenders.

The slate already includes home games against Northwestern and Davidson, and road tilts with San Diego State, Detroit and Valparaiso, as well as the BracketBuster game.

Hawkins wants the schedule to be a bit more fair to his team than it was this season. Already he can tell that may not happen. Two separate exempt tournaments have turned their backs on the Broncos after big-conference programs threatened to pull out if WMU was invited. Neutral-site events are important because home games are even harder to come by.

``I'm already ticked off about the schedule,'' Hawkins said. `` ... (Teams see that) we have every one of our players back off a team that made a late-season push. One of the things that's really going against us is the Virginia Tech game (a 71-68 win on Nov. 23 in the Old Spice Classic). A lot of people watched us on Thanksgiving night.''

The weenie big money schools are scared of playing us at a neutral site or on the road. That's the life of a MAC school - especially one that will have the eintire team coming back.

Hawkins:Next season, there'll be no time for patience
