Welcome to ALL Bronco fans!
Hope you join us here and post away. There is a very strong Toledo, NIU, Ohio, and Kent St. presence on these boards. We'd like to increase the Bronco presence here.

With the craziness going on over at BI, this is another place for us to go in order to talk all things WMU related. I've asked the site admin. to help us change the color scheme to Brown with Gold.

If you are newly registered here, chime in and let us know!

GO BRONCOS!!

I want to go on record now and say that we need a better Hockey coach, a better OOC scheduling phiolsophy in basketball, and a Brown alternate jersey in football. If we could get those things done for 2007 this would be a great year for Bronco athletics and WMU as an institution.

I assume you are not wondering why I think we need to get rid of Culhane. Our non confrence basketball schedule should be taken down a notch or two. We are going out and playing teams from some of the countrs best confrences, getting beaten up physicaly, and going into the confrence season 4 or 5 games under .500. We have a young team and we were even younger last year, it seems pointless to play so many difficult non confrence road games after the 3 year run we had prior to last season. In three years we had an NCAA bid 2 NIT bids a MAC tournament championship, and 2 MAC West titles. We have squandered alot of that momentum by playing a schedule that makes .500 overall seem like a successful season. Remember for every VaTech there is a Pitt, West Virginia, or Indiana game that we get little out of except a pay day.

I watched every second of that game and we did not just collect a pay check that night. With 6 min. to go we are down 4 and we had a bad stretch where in 3 minutes we turned the ball over 3 times, missed the front end of two 1 and 1's and missed a layup. At that point we ended up down 12 came back and lost by 8.

We were up at the half, we shot under 40% for the game and they shot 58% in the second half.

I do agree we don't need to have the 10th toughest schedule in the country. But I would not mind to have a few more home games and have a schedule around the 75th toughest schedule or so. I don't want a BuGS type schedule that was some place in the bottom 10.

I think that you and I are on the same page OB1. I would like to see a middle ground as well. The Indiana game was a nice effort, but we didn't get anything out of it except a tired team that still had to play Temple, Northwestern, etc...

I'd like to say, in looking at this season's schedule, that if we had replaced two or perhaps three of these OOC road games, like Davidson and perhaps Temple with home games it would have been better for us.

No way do you replace Indiana or Indiana St. as with all our Indiana kids those are regional games that they look forward to playing.

But I still think if you want to challenge to be among the top MAC teams, we need to play a challenging OOC schedule. Maybe just over-reached a bit this year, given our youth. Had we won two or three more OOC we wouldn't be having this discussion.
