Why in the world would you let this guy touch the ball again with 2 fumbles in the first quarter? Just throw it to him and don't give him yet another chance to fumble it.

Yeah, yeah, let's start Britt at QB. Oh yeah oh yeah.

I predicted his fumbles a month or 2 ago if you recollect.

He picked up a 1st down, then he picked up 7 yards on a run.

It's John Bond and Joe N at work. They get a bad rap for being too conservative. In my view they have always been willing to break with their tendencies in an attempt to win a big game.

It does not always work, but I have seen them do it on many occasions.

That second fumble was some poor mechanics on Davis' part. Let it go right through his hands on the snap. Focus.

I like the change up, but we can't afford the fumbles. After watching Bobby Wade fumble a third time Sunday for the Bears, I'm afraid to see Britt under there again.

I posted this earlier tonight...Britt Davis at QB = turnover. You don't stick a guy in there with next to no experience at QB in the biggest game of the year. Britt has done a good job at receiver, don't do anything to get him to lose confidence.

They tried it, it had mixed results. They stopped after fumbles became the pattern. Credit them with trying everything within reason to win, yet not pushing it when it wasn't working entirely well.

I think it was a good thing to try. And I don't think it was necessarily indicative of how Britt would do w/practice. It has to be hard to do, especially w/the weather. But I was VERY impressed w/Nicholson!

Agree completely.
I Admire Coach Novak's wisdom in choosing the right QB.
Our QB played brilliantly.
How many green QB's can perform so brilliantly.
He single handedly kept us in the game the first half.
Well done GW.
We really could have used him last year in the second half.

I think the best throw that I saw was the TD pass to Nordin. That pass had smoke and was in the numbers. Just impressive. While I love DN and it looks like he might be our best QB, including Horvath, he needs to get an internal clock to throw the ball away and not take the sack.

You always take the chance of fumbles on the snap when you put a new QB in there, so I wasn't sure if they were actually going to put Britt in there in this game. Can't blame them for trying it, though. Missed the part of the game where he was in, would have liked to see what happened.

That pass was a laser....It is amazing how much better his passes look than Phils.

I also agree that the Coaches were going to win this game come hell or high water..they were going to pull out all the stops.

Congrats Huskies and Coach Novak!!!!

Maybe now people will shut up about it.

Then there was that TD he dropped. The next time NIU plays on the road, I hope Britt remembers to bring his hands.

Britt changed his focus from catching the ball to trying to get inbounds before he actually had the ball in his hands. He's still learning the position, and it shows, but he didn't just forget his hands.

I'm not lobbying for who should be the 2006 QB.

However, I do like mixing it up and giving the D another option to defend. With more snaps/ practice - perhaps BDavis could be added as another NIU WMD in addition to Wolfe and Hurd.

God forbid and bite my tongue but WHAT IF DanN was unavailable?
