But you have a strange crush on me alum, instead of jumping on the guy who posted that it was you jump on me...Why? Because it hurts your feelings when i post my opinion, and then i back it up with stats????
Which stats did you post? I saw one scenario in one game detailed.
Facts:
Haldi ranked 5th in the MAC in passing yds/game
Haldi ranked 6th in the MAC in total offense yds/game
Haldi ranked 6th in the MAC in passing efficiency
NIU was first in the MAC in red zone efficiency w/Haldi at QB
none of this says that Haldi sucked or that Haldi was the best QB to ever lace 'em up.
But here's that stat that, IMO, says a lot about the last couple of years:
NIU scoring D averaged approx 24 pts/game the last two years (combing 03's 21.5 with 02's 24.8) In the three losses mentioned most, NIU gave up 33 (UT '02), 34 (BG '03) and 49 (UT '03). In '03, the next highest point total against us was 24. In '02, we had 41 scored on us two other times in wins, and 37 scored on us in a loss. Is it a coincidence that we were 15-1 when holding the opposition below our average, while 3-5 when they exceeded our average?
Here are some stats that are fun and matter
Josh Haldi Completion Percentage...10th in the MAC, WOW 10th!
So define passing efficiency, These stats are from ESPN.com
Another FUN stat 8th in the MAC in yards/attempt....Not like he is missing Long passes, he is missing them short.
Haldi #7 in the MAC in int's.
#2 in Sacks, sometimes you have to avoid that rush...#7 in QB rating.
So lets review those stats for a second if we can...Do we as much out of haldi? Nope, everyone here says he makes great choices and is a really smart QB, well for all his brains he can't seem to hit short passes. To be a top team in the MAC we have to have a QB who finishes higher than 5th in any stat. We need a guy who can play and hit a short pass, i think the 10th in completion percentage tells a lot. Along with his 9ints. THE MAC ISN'T KNOWN FOR DEFENSE FOLKS, HOW BAD TO YOU HAVE TO BE TO BE 10th in completion percentage? Not to mention most opposing D was looking at stoping the run with 8 in the box. I hate to see how josh does when they have people back to defend the pass and can stop the run with 6 or 7.
So defend haldi all you will, i agree he probably will be the starter, but i don't think he is very good, and a lack of mike turner will prove it.
Oh yea and as for your stat DAN about with haldi at QB NIU was number one in redzone efficiency...SURE DID HELP TO HAVE AZAR AND TURNER!!!!!!!      If josh is the QB as well all seem to agree he will be, lets see how high that stat is with no turner or azar. But i assume if it is low it won't be his fault.
