While checking the Illinois Board(I hated to admit to it), I looked at the link to today's St.Louis Dispatch, discussing the Top 30 Missouri prospects.

I found 2 prospects listed in the Top 30 that are either commited to or still interested in NIU.

Listed as #12 is Angelo Webb, 6-1, 230, RB/LB - looking at NIU and Kentucky

Listed as #19 is Brandon Beal, 6-4, 232, TE - commited to NIU

Vianney foursome weighs college choices

The Vianney foursome of Travis Hewitt, Brandon Holland, Tom Mulvihill and Brandon Beal made the Golden Griffins one of the area's top teams the last two seasons. Recently, two of those players made commitments to colleges.

Hewitt, a 6-2, 180-pound quarterback, and Beal, a 6-4, 232-pound tight end, both committed to Arkansas State in the last two weeks. On Tuesday, however, Beal changed his mind and committed to Northern Illinois.

"I like the city, the coaching staff and I think they have a lot more to offer," Beal said of Northern Illinois. "They are a top 20 school and I have a chance to play right away."

Hewitt, who broke several of Trent Green's passing records at Vianney, weighed several offers before choosing Arkansas State.

"They had a pretty nice complex, and the campus is nice," Hewitt said. "The town is bigger than some of the other campuses I visited. They seemed a little more interested in me and I figured it would be better to go somewhere where you are the No.1 choice."

Holland, a running back, and Mulvihill, a wide receiver, will make their college decisions soon. Eastern Illinois and Northwest Missouri State are two of the schools recruiting Holland. Columbia, Northwest Missouri State and Yale are among the schools interested in Mulvihill.
