Per EdgyTim, Greg Turner of Driscoll Catholic is still getting little interest from 1-A programs as a full scholly athlete. Only EIU and North Dakota State (2A) have offered scholarships.
NIU has offered Greg the chance to grey shirt while U of I has him marked as a preferred walk-on. The kids got to make a tough decision, but I know how I would pick!
Forget the 1-AA stuff, you have a full ride if you enroll at NIU in the spring of 2005 semester. You're not going to play this fall anyhow, so take the late admission and get ready for spring practice of 2005. U of I will have a different coach by the time Turner is ready to play.

I saw your posts. I usually get time to post when I'm on a boring conference call like right now. I really like your posts on the EdgyTim message board. That board is read by the recruits and people who influence their decisions. Keep pushing the Huskies.

Thanks! I realize that important people read that one so I try my best to sound intelligent and well informed over there. I like that fact that Edgy will reply to questions honestly and in a very prompt manner.

By the way, nice job on the Wisconsin board too Big Dog.
I also try to keep a pulse on what's happening North of the border.
I wish Sunday's MJS article on UW/WI recruiting addressed the MAC impact on the Badgers walk on program.
Have you ever heard Alvarez or his staff address this issue publicly?
If anyone would care to share their thoughts, I'd appreciate reading them.
