Now we know why Matthew picked NIU. From the picture, he is obviously a Tenn. Titans fan, and Joe has said he will probably be moved to WR (a Dan Sheldon type). Titan's Justin and The Thrill being from NIU closed the deal.

This quote from his HS coach says that Matthew has been timed as low as 4.31 in the forty

You can't teach speed, but someone will have to teach him to be a wide receiver after being a running back in high school.

Dan Sheldon was a TB in HS. We've managed to turn him into an OK receiver. :D

I love this part about Matthew:

Quote:Matthew ran for 325 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries...

...Matthew, who averaged 29.5 yards per carry on Thursday, set the tone early, escaping the grasp of a Varela tackler and sprinting down the sideline for a 77-yard touchdown run on Palmetto's second drive of the game.

...On the first play of the second half, Matthew ran a sweep to the outside, then cut back and rumbled up the middle for a 71-yard score that gave the Panthers a 21-0 lead.

...Matthew's most impressive run capped the night when he swerved through the Varela defense for a 93-yard score.

Just like Sheldon two years ago, this kid may become a homerun threat as a kick and punt returner.

WR takes a second to learn and a lifetime to master. The learning the routes will be the easy part, then he has to get on the same page with the QB, then he has to make sure he makes the routes sharp, he should be ready to go at the start of the season, but he could be come a star by his senior year!

With that speed, he could become a start more quickly than that!! Best of all, you may be looking at current backup and future top return men. We already have among the best returners in the nation in Sheldon, now let's just add more speed. 04-rock
