Do u folks do anything special the day of a football or basketball game?
Drink anything for good luck? Wear any special clothes...?

I just realized I wore the same shirt for both the 2002 Toledo loss
and 2003 Bowling green football losses...It has been thrown away!!!

I just realized I wore the same shirt for both the 2002 Toledo loss
and 2003 Bowling green football losses...It has been thrown away!!!
During the 2002 season, I wore a pair of ratty old black jeans and a red and black shirt which was too small because my wife shrunk it in the dryer. I happened to be wearing it the night of the Wake Forest game, so I wore it until we lost to Toledo, at which point I decided it had lost it's magic and I burned it.

During the 2003 season, I wore a long-sleeved Huskies t-shirt, gray jeans, gray socks and running shoes with huge holes in them. Why? My wife went into labor late in the evening of August 27 and I threw on whatever I could grab to drive her to the hospital. My son was born at 8 am the next morning. By 430pm mama and baby were sound asleep, so I hopped in my car and drove like a bat out of hell to Huskie stadium for the Maryland game. Naturally, I couldn't change my wardrobe the rest of the season.

This led to some unpleasantness at Toledo, as my holey shoes filled with rainwater. I'm still convinced we lost that day because I wussed out and put plastic bags over my soaking wet socks....Or maybe the magic doesn't work on the road. I'll have to experiment next year.

Every game I must purchase a large Mountain Dew from the vendors on the main floor and a copy of the game program from the same Evans scholar kid (freckle-faced kid w glasses. I also get em from him at b-ball games) in my seat. I should add, I didn't purchase my program from him at the Ohio game until the fourth qtr. Nuff said...
Also, I must leave w one minute to go before halftime to get a disgusting Huskie stadium hot dog.

I have similiar superstitions for hoops, and thus far, I haven't seen us lose at home game at the convo that I attended, much to my wife's dismay. :D She has the audacity to claim that the plastic convo cups w the NIU logo I bring her after every game does not constitute a matching set of glassware

Although I'm not really superstitious, :D you guys will see me in Huskies stadium on 9/11 for SIU. I'll be the guy in a long-sleeved Huskies shirt, gray jeans and holey running shoes buying the program from the freckle-faced Evans scholar kid.....

I wear black socks to every game home and away. I honor of the ending of the losing streak and coach Joe wearing black socks to the next game.
Warm weather I wear the #32 NIU game worn.
I try to listen to the same songs in the car on the way to the game. I get there early and order up some pizza and get a Dew. Usually by kick-off I have such a caffiene buzz I can barely sit still. Dew should be regulated as a narcotic.

During the football season, I wore the same gray NIU Football t-shirt for everygame. I also wore my NIU hat with the "NI-U-Gotta Be Kidding" sticker on rim, that I got from Alabama fans before we proceded to upset them.

Even when I was in Las Vegas during the Eastern Michigan game, I wore the same attire to the Sports Book.

Before each home football game I partake in a few brewskies and a couple of brats! It paid great dividends this past year! 04-drinky

I like this topic!

I wear a Huskie red or black T-shirt or sweatshirt, always with black jeans and red & black shoes. I wear my Huskie windbreaker, jacket or coat, as the weather dictates. My wife wears her Huskie earrings and a Huskie top. We both wear our Huskie watches.

Once we sit down (football and hoops) we NEVER leave our seats. Nothing to eat and no bathroom after we sit down. We both have our various hexes that we try to place on the opposition.

Generally, I am a much better person to be around during hoops season, when each game does not count as much. (I have been VERY relaxed this season, to the point of unconsciousness!) During football season, I am very difficult to be around as we get closer to Saturday. I get nervous as hell, irritable, and physically ill as Saturday approaches. On game day, if I eat much I get sick, so I save my eating for after the game. (This is hell for night games!) I am destined to die young! :crying:
