Often overlooked this sport continues to show success. Congratulatiions for advancing 8 wrestlers to todays competition.
They work hard and seldom get the publicity outside of NIU. In the collegiate wrestling world NIU is recongnized around the country.

another good showing ....another second place behind CMU a traditional powerhouse in midwest....I worry about keeping Grant much longer .....

BTW: next year's state HS TEAM championship will be at convo?
What does it take to get MAC tourney away from Mt. P? If it was at convo , I would cross promote the HS finals with MAC . I imagine alot of tix could be sold in nIL for wrestling...how many attended at Mt P?

Where did you hear that from? That would be a great thing not only for NIU wrestling but for NIU and DeKalb.

The thing that makes me go 03-banghead is we seemed to somehow lose West Aurora coming to DeKalb in the tournament(ok, it won't always be them but most years in the recent past it was). Now we get Winnebago. :snore: I know they are ok but it seems to me that WA would be preferable in terms of quality players we could use. Did we lose them because of not enough seating in the fieldhouse?

Winnebago is class A, their super-sectional is this week. West Aurora is class AA and their's is next week. I would expect that West Aurora will be at NIU next week, if they win the sectional. ihsa.org or something like that has all the details.

Thanks. I just don't remember there being a "big school" coming here last year so I thought they moved. I will have to go to the WA game so I can actually see some good b-ball played at the Convo. 03-lol Not to mention(as most know) it is was where I went to high school.

The winner of the Aurora Sectional which includes WAHS- among others- faces the winner of the Hinsdale Sectional at NIU Supersectional and includes DG South among others yet in contention.

Could be an interesting rematch from past years altho it was GN which upset WAHS in last season Evans hosted supers. I attended that shocker. Last year's matchups and sites are a blurrrr at the moment.
