I thought Michigan's openers were always on ABC?

If BG moves to the East, we may not play them in '05.

I'd guess that the UM game is definite TV game, with ABC regional being a possibility (much like UM hosting Miami or OU hosting BG).

Dude, the Michigan game is 9 months away. You'll have plenty of time to set the TiVo.

I would expect no less than 3-4 NIU games on ESPN not counting Mich. If anyone has been paying attention..... ESPN is launching a new channel called ESPN-U all college, all the time, This channel from what I was told is going to pickup alot more b-ball games and div 1 football.

They launch right before the NCAA Conference tournament week and will cover more b-ball games, which means they might carry more than just the MAC Championship b-ball game too.

I expect great things in terms of tv coverage from ESPN next year!

How do you guys know that you are playing Miami? The MAC hasn't announced it's schedule yet, nor the cross-over games.

So if I understand correctly, our schedule will include the following high quality opponents...Michigan (road), Iowa State (road), Bowling Green (road), Toledo (road) and Miami (home). That there folks is a tough schedule.

I hope beyond hope the MAC doesn't move Bowling Green to the East. Lets hope Western Kentucky, Temple or whoever joins so a burgeoning rivalry with BG can be maintained.

TV coverage is no longer the issue given our success of the past few years and the addition of Comcast sports. Hopefully radio coverage will catch up soon.

Because the cross over games rotate. We played Central Fla. & Akron this year, Ohio & Buffalo last year & Miami and Kent the year before that.

Marshall and Central Florida are gone. Miami would be due to come to DeKalb next year. And I guess we'd be going to either Ohio or Kent for a road crossover. Still would need one more crossover.

They don't always rotate so don't be too sure on that. You could very well play Miami, but there is no set rotation.

Look at Toledo's cross-over games:

2004
vs Ohio
at Miami

2003
at Marshall
vs Buffalo

2002
at UCF
vs Miami

If there was a rotation, why did Toledo play Miami twice in that time without playing Akron or Kent State?

I could probably come up with more examples if I looked at other teams.

Anyway, each school submits a list of schools from the other division that they would like to play and they weigh them by importance. The MAC office then goes from those lists and tries to schedule the cross-over games as best as they can. I got this straight from the MAC office last February when I inquired about how the cross-over games were scheduled.
