Louisiana to NO Bowl, Ark. St. to either GoDaddy or Camilla and either Texas St. or South Alabama to the other Alabama bowl.

I don't blame them for trying, but Krazy Karl needs to stop screwing around and make sure this ridiculousness is denied first thing tomorrow morning.

Oh wait ..... he might have a tee time and won't be able to provide any leadership at this time.

This is exactly why UL wants the hell out of this circus show of a conference, and I imagine Ga Southern will just be an exhausting memner to deal with over the next few years.

Please get us outta here!

um... the belt cant exactly lobby for an at-large bid for our 4th team AFTER the bowl announcements are made. can they?

Nothing is stopping the Sun Belt from lobbying for an at-large bid do you even think about the things you type before you hit the enter button?

I could ask you the same thing brainiac.

what bid are they going to lobby for when we don't know yet who is going to be left out? or which bowl to lobby?

4 Sun Belt teams are eligible so 1 will be left out for sure so why wouldn't you look at which bowls have openings and lobby the bowl to place the remaining team? You know the Sun Belt bowls and conference office already know who they want so nothing is stopping the commissioner from working to place a 4th team. The appeal that GS filed has almost no chance but if by some miracle it was approved then the commissioner should immediately get to work trying to place a 5th team.

I'm sorry your life is being made so miserable by my school as I have noted a severe dislike of GS coming from you and I apologize for the perceived injustice that Texas St must endure because of this appeal. However I can't blame our administration for trying to do what's best for our team and University and I won't shed a tear if by some miracle we do get a bowl invite. Sorry again but the fact is we are Sun Belt champs and we should be able to go to a Bowl even though we are in transition this year. If we don't get that invite then likewise you won't find me crying in my beer for what might have been.

I'm sure the rule doesn't state that a transitioning team is not allowed to go to a bowl game unless they win the conference.

If your university didn't like the rule then they should have remained FCS

There have been a million threads on this subject since game 1. In almost every one of those threads we heard "We just want in but don't want to take a Bowl away from one of the other teams that have "Earned" it" (By completing the transition.)

Yeah, that went out the window fairly quickly.......didn't it?

With Ga Southern being the Cinderella story and media darling, will the ncaa blatantly ignore rule 18.7.2.2.2? Given all the scrutiny the ncaa is under, do they really want to be seen as re-writing rules on the fly?

You're NOT bowling . . . . PERIOD! But thanks for living by the rules you agreed to when you moved up, and thanks for wasting everyone's time. Enjoy your off season. . . . . . 05-mafia

If you read what I typed you would see I never said we were going bowling just that I think 8-0 conference champions deserves to go even if we are transitioning. And if it were to happen I would be thrilled but I don't expect it so you (mostly) Texas St fans need to ease up a bit because you acting like a bunch of 4th grade dicks.

RE: Bowl Info: Process delayed, Picture "Muddy" per AState AD - eaglewraith - 11-30-2014 10:36 PM

I'm trying to figure out how Georgia Southern fans are supposed to be the petulant children in all this.

There are avenues available to us to pursue. We're not doing anything outside of the rules. We're allowed to file a waiver, we're also allowed to appeal the decision. None of these things are nonstandard.

Why such an outrage? Yes the rules are in place....however, the rules don't fully preclude us in the first place since there are stipulations that would allow us to be eligible even without a waiver.

If our appeal gets denied, it's season over and we prepare for next year. That's what we expected this year anyway. However, our administration would be doing our fans and team a disservice by not trying to do everything possible within the rules to gain a postseason berth for us.

It's amazing that we're being made out to be the villains.

Media darling lol. Way bigger story lines in this conference than Georgia southern

Almost cartoonish, the whole pushing of the appeal and the whole situation gives credence to the reputation of this Mickey Mouse conference. Plus shows the other universities what type of members we have allowed into the clubhouse. Nothing spells sportsmanship and class like appeals and dealing with NCAA bureaucracy!!!

Together we Rise ?????? meh....

Wrong no rule gives any exception to a TRANSITION team except for the ONE rule that clearly state a transition team can participate in a bowl if there is a shortage of eligible teams...we have. 80 teams for 76 slots..done deal

They could call it, the Look At Me Conference.
