I guess one of you could be Mark Emmert for all I know.

TK said it in an interview

Only thing that campus is south of is the state line, and they hate being called Eastern Georgia...

We are very far east and actually located 30 miles east of East Georgia State, which is odd.

Charleston Southern is located in North Charleston, so we're not the only ones. 03-wink

looks like Hud is on board

“I think everybody knew the rule preseason,” Hudspeth said Monday. “But, being in the Sun Belt Conference, it would be great for our conference to have another team bowl-eligible. So, I wouldn’t have any problem with that personally.

“It’s a team that’s proved it on the field that they have an outstanding team. Not shocked here one bit whatsoever. I think I tried to tell everybody that this year, when everybody talked about Georgia Southern and App State coming into league – (the) team knows how to win. They’ve won there forever. As much tradition as anybody in college football, and I knew they’d be successful.

“So, if they got the waiver,” Hudspeth added, “I would not be against it, I assure you that. That’s just another feather in our conference’s hat.”

Bet he wouldn't be saying that if NOB was off the table :)

Yeah UL is the only team that wouldn't be in limbo of losing a bowl, so they can say whatever they want.

Exactly - he is speaking of a position of more security than the rest.

It was fun while there was still an ounce of hope. Hope all 4 conference teams make a bowl this year.

Gotta say this made the message board a lot more interesting then if there was no appeal. Not sure how much work I've gotten done waiting for updates.

Hope this never happens to another team especially one that wins a conference outright, but oh well we all knew it was a long shot especially without conference support.

We knew the rule going in so it was just going to be a bonus.

If don't add any more move-ups I can assure you it won't happen again.

Appeal denied. Time to move on - GaSoEagle - 12-02-2014 04:39 PM

I for one am glad to have this resolved. It was about a .000001% chance anyway.

Now the bowls can start selecting their teams. I am still hoping all 4 bowl eligible Belt teams get to go bowling.

come join us in the thread that is already going on about this. it is about 5000000 pages long

And to the recruiting trail we go.

Good luck to the Sun Belt teams in their respective bowls!

It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. The rule needs to be changed regardless. Anyway, great season...better than any of us could have expected. Southern accomplished all that was within their power to accomplish in the conference. To the rest of you, win your damn bowl games. :)

RE: Appeal denied. Time to move on - ValleyBoy - 12-02-2014 04:42 PM

Yes MOD's just add this thread to the other thread.

Georgia Southern becomes the answer to a triva question
