Temple Game Notes - NIU1981 - 10-05-2010 02:47 PM

Game Notes for this week are up already:

A few observations:

-No Alan Baxter or Ron Newcomb in the two deep.

-Pat Schiller makes his first 2010 appearance on the two deep!

-The Participation Report shows Tyler Loos having played at Akron. Please tell me that's a mistake. Why would they burn his redshirt?

I saw that too. I spoke with his Dad at the ND game and he said he thought he would red shirt. Maybe he is progressing ahead of schedule and they wanted to get him some seat time.

Losing a FR OL redshirt year does not sound good.It is usually a sign of weak young teams. It does not fit our MO.

We haven't really had any issues, injury or performance related, on the OL...there has to be some explanation for why he played

Sometimes the game notes are not accurate and are corrected the following week. That's my hope in this case.

Loos is our only freshman lineman on the two-deep. He might as well get some playing time. We'll probably need him later in the season.

Who else is a backup tackle to put in other than Adam Kiel? Everybody else is being redshirted. If he's good enough to play as a freshman, then play him.

Even if he loses his redshirt this year, it can always be taken down the road, God forbid he has a season ending injury at some point. If he is on the 2-deeps, he is going to play this year.

The accurate #NIU participation chart will be available later this week. But plan still is for Loos to redshirt, swing Adam Kiel at RT, LT
