Hello. My family and I are participating in March for Babies because we believe in the March of Dimes mission to save babies. Please support our fundraising efforts by sponsoring us in March for Babies today.

My daughter Elizabeth was born on June 5, 2007, with a genetic neurological disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. On December 21, 2007, we learned of Elizabeth`s diagnosis. We also found out that she had the most severe form of this terminal disease-Type 1. Elizabeth is currently 9 months old. Most children with SMA do not live past their first birthday and nearly all pass away before the age of two. Hopefully, causes such as March of Dimes will help to change those odds someday.

My wife Sarah, our daughters Clare and Elizabeth and I are very excited to be a part of the “first” March for Babies.

The March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will support lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start. The March of Dimes also supports Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Contributing to march online is fast, easy and secure. You can donate directly from my personal webpage with a credit/debit card or PayPal. If you prefer, we can also accept cash or check. Just click the appropriate box on our webpage.

The money we raise helps save premature and sick babies. Premature birth is the #1 cause of newborn death and the biggest threat to babies’ health today, and through March for Babies, the March of Dimes is funding important research to find out why premature birth happens and what can be done to prevent it.

We’ve joined with millions of compassionate people across the country who support March for Babies each year. Please help us in this worthy cause. Visit my webpage and sponsor us in the march that saves babies! Anything you can afford to do means a lot.

With your support, there’s hope.

My personal web page address for donations is....

Hey guys. I think I’ve introduced myself before but I will again.

I’m a reporter for MACReportOnline, and I’m currently working on a book about the 2007 MAC football season. I’m looking for any recordings you have, digital or VHS or DVD or whatever, of any of the MAC games from this season. I attended a game in every single MAC stadium this year, but I obviously wasn’t able to watch every game. So I’m really hoping to get a chance to watch as much of these games on recording as possible.

Any one that can help me out with this will get a huge thank you in my book and a free copy. Comes out next summer, before the 2008 football season.

Please email me at brian.golden@gmail.com if you can help me out on this in anyway.

Also, please email me if there are any particular stories, legends, traditions or players you’d like to see profiled in the book.

Thanks guys. Godspeed.

Hey guys. I wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Brian Golden, I’m a sports writer for Rivals.com and MACReportOnline. I’m the author of the power rankings that have been posted here from MRO throughout the season. Additionally, all my sports writing can be seen on my blog at briankgolden.blogspot.com.

I’m writing a book on the 2007 MAC football season. I’ve been to a different MAC stadium every weekend this fall, and on October 30th, I hit the road for three weeks to take in as many of the weeknight games I can. On Nov. 23rd at Bowling Green, I’ll be at my 13th MAC stadium of the year, leaving the final Saturday open to see whatever game is most important. It’s been a very exciting year, and all the fans have been very helpful and supportive, so thanks.

A couple things I was hoping you could help me out with on this forum:

-	Because I’ve been traveling so much, I haven’t been able to watch every single game this year. The MAC office has been kind of squirrelly on helping me see the TV games I missed. Does anyone have any Akron games on tape or (better yet) on their computer? Anyone that can point me in the direction of a recorded game will get the cost of the tape and a huge, huge thank you in my book.
-	Are there any special traditions, experiences or stories about Akron you’d like to see covered in the book? I’m trying to write not just about the games themselves but about the MAC football culture, and I hope to bring in as much color and flavor to the book as I can. If anyone has any ideas, please email me at brian.golden@gmail.com.
-	Anyone that would like any more information about my book, or would like to reserve an advance copy at half price, please contact me at brian.golden@gmail.com.

Below I have listed my travel schedule for the rest of the year, so you know when I’ll be in your town. I came to the MAC at the beginning of this year with no bias or prejudices (I’m an Iowa State fan), and I’m paying for the whole experience out of pocket because the world needs to know what kind of football you guys play. It sure has been fun. Thanks for any help you can give!

Oct. 27th: Akron at Buffalo (BUFFALO)
Nov. 2nd: Temple at Ohio (ATHENS)
Nov. 3rd: EMU at Toledo
Nov. 7th: Ohio at Akron (AKRON)
Nov. 9th: Bowling Green at EMU (YPSILANTI)
Nov. 10th: Penn State at Temple (PHILADELPHIA)
The following information is from Rick Longenecker, one of the initiators of the INDUCTCHUCK campaign:

Quote:I'm on a mission to right an injustice and need your help. I'm leading a grassroots, volunteer campaign to get the National Football Foundation (NFF) to change their selection criteria for inducting players into the College Football Hall of Fame (CFHOF). This rule change will impact the lives of over ninety (90 players) at fifty-eight (58) colleges (see a player sample below).

Thanks for helping my colleague, Matt Armstead, and I change the rules and the lives of these great players. We appreciate your financial support! Have a great week!

PS - Who is Chuck Ealey?

Please ask the next person that you run into “what quarterback holds the record for most consecutive wins (35-0) in NCAA and Amateur football history? Here are some hints. He was 8th in the Heisman Trophy, won three consecutive bowl games, led his team to a 12th ranking by the AP, was conference player of the year three consecutive years, and was rated first team all-American by the Football News. His name, Chuck Ealey, QB for The University of Toledo Rockets from 1969-1971. It’s hard to believe that Chuck Ealey is not eligible for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.

PSS - What other players would become eligible?

With your help over ninety (90) players including Chuck Ealey, Drew Bledsoe, Brady Quinn, Ben Roethlisberger, Donovan McNabb, Daunte Culpepper, Chad Pennington, Drew Brees, Bernie Kosar, Eli Manning, Tom Matte, Boomer Isiason, Steve McNair, Jim Everett, Jim Harbaugh, Todd Blackledge, Tony Eason, Trent Dilfer, and Byron Leftwich will become eligible for induction. These players share three things in common: 1) they are not recognized by the NFF as first team all-Americans, 2) they are Heisman Trophy Finalists, and 3) they are not eligible for induction into the CFHOF.

PSS - Why is Chuck Ealey not eligible for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame?

The first NFF screening criteria states “first and foremost a player must be recognized as a first team all-American by an approved selector.” In 1971 the Football News was not an approved selector. Research shows that over ninety (90) players (from 58 colleges and universities) since 1935 have been Heisman Trophy Finalists but were not first team all-Americans. Thus they too are not eligible for induction.

It’s worth noting that Archie Manning was inducted in 1989 despite the fact that he was not recognized as a first team all-American by an approved selector. Interestingly he was named first team all-American by the Football News in 1969 and 1970 (like Chuck Ealey in 1972). The NFF and the CFHOF has yet to answer the question “why was Archie Manning’s nomination form allowed through the screening process and Chuck Ealey’s wasn’t?” We believe that the NFF can rectify this unfortunate situation by simply changing their first rule to state “first team all-American or Top 10 Heisman Finalist.” Then Archie and Chuck will both be eligible.
