I downloaded a software program to my computer that allows me to watch the New Orleans Saints and basically any other NFL game online via live streaming feed. I use it because I'm at work (aargh..) a lot of times when the games are played, and there's no TV at work.

It's easy to operate and downloads very quickly. I like it so much that I watched basically the whole preseason online. The only pc requirements are DSL or cable Internet and a windows operating system (sorry mac users), and it apparently works in any country.

Anyway, the website below will give you instant access.

Tom Walter Named UNO Baseball Coach

NEW ORLEANS (July 1, 2004) – The University of New Orleans announced today the hiring of Tom Walter, head coach at George Washington University, as head baseball coach. The hiring is pending upon approval by the Louisiana State Board of Supervisors.

Walter becomes the fifth coach to lead the Privateer baseball program. The school has competed in the sport for 35 seasons, compiling a .586 winning percentage over that time including two College World Series appearances (one in Division I in 1984). Walter replaces Randy Bush who resigned June 10 after five seasons.

“When I began the search for a new coach, I looked for three primary qualities," said Miller in making the announcement. "I wanted a coach who has experienced success, I wanted a coach with head coaching experience, and I wanted a coach who knows the value of academics as part of our commitment to our student-athletes.

"Tom Walter has those qualities in abundance."

Walter comes to UNO after spending the last eight seasons as the head baseball coach at the Washington, D.C., school where he compiled a 275-184 mark including a trip to the 2002 NCAA Tournament.

The winningest baseball coach in GW history, Walter averaged 39 wins a season over the last five years and collected 30-or-more victories six times including two of those seasons with 40-plus wins for the Colonials.

One of his players from this past season, Anthony Raglani, was a fifth-round selection in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers bringing the total to 17 players that have played professionally after their GW careers under Walter. In 2002, six Colonials were taken in the draft which marked the most players taken from the school in a particular year.

During the team’s NCAA run in 2002, GW captured the Atlantic 10 Tournament crown by defeating conference rival Richmond for the title as that team set several school records including its 42 victories that season.

In his second season, Walter was named the 1998 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year by leading the Colonials to a then school-record 33 victories en route to winning the league’s West Division title and notching the fifth-best turnaround in NCAA Division I from the previous season.

During his GW tenure, Walter had a total of 18 first-team all-league selections including five from this spring. He also coached one Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Year and three A-10 Rookies of the Year during his time leading the Colonials.

From 1992-1994, Walter served as the assistant coach for GW. Working primarily with the Colonials’ hitting and base-running techniques, Walter helped guide GW’s 1992 squad to the conference championship and a trip to the NCAA Midwest Regional that year.

A 1991 graduate of Georgetown University, Walter started behind the plate or in the outfield in each of his four seasons with the Hoyas. He was the team captain in 1990 and 1991 and was named to the 1991 Big East Conference All-Academic Team. After earning his bachelor’s degree in finance from Georgetown, Walter went to GW, where he earned a master’s degree in business while serving as an assistant to former Colonial coach Jay Murphy.

The Johnstown, PA, native has also served as a head coach of the New Market (Va.) Rebels during the summer of 1994, where he led the team to the Shenandoah Valley League title. Following his stint there, Walter took a position with the New York Yankees’ Class A affiliate in Greensboro, NC, in November of 1994.

Walter returned to GW in the fall of 1997 charged with the task of resurrecting GW’s once prestigious program.

Walter, 35, and his wife, Kirsten, have two children – Chase (4) and Kasey (2).

NEW ORLEANS (Feb. 17, 2004) - The University of New Orleans officially announced today that they are adding the sport of women's swimming to its 14-sport athletics program for the 2004-05 academic year and have named Ashley Tappin as the school's head coach.

Tappin, a United States Olympic Gold medalist in the sport and a well-respected coach in the field, will oversee the school's program that was discontinued in the early 1990s.

"She brings instant credibility to our program," UNO athletics director Jim Miller said. "Ashley had a national and international reputation as an athlete and now as an inspirational and highly motivated coach. We are very happy to have her join our staff."

Tappin, who retired from competitive swimming in 2001, is a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist.

Tappin began her swimming career at age nine in Tampa, Fla. In 1998, she relocated to New Orleans at the age of 13 and began swimming for St. Martin's High School. That year she was the youngest swimmer ever to compete in the U.S. Olympic Trials. During her career at St. Martin's, she became a 20-time Louisiana State Champion and a state record holder six times, including three that still stand.

In 1988, Tappin made her first U.S. National Team at the age of 13. She competed in the 1990 World Championships (at age 15) and won a Gold Medal in Perth, Australia. The next year, she swam in the Pan American Games in Havana, Cuba, and won three Gold Medals. At the age of 17, she was one of the youngest athletes to qualify for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain, where she won the Gold as part of the 4x100 Freestyle Relay team.

She graduated from St. Martin's in 1993 and attended the University of Florida. As a freshman at UF, Tappin won two National Championships. In 1993, she transferred to the University of Arizona. During her years at Arizona, Tappin collected five NCAA titles.

After missing the 1996-97 seasons due to rehabilitation, Tappin returned strong in 1998 as she collected four Gold Medals at the U.S. National Championships, just one of 10 women in the history of the event to ever do so.

In 1999, she was invited to Colorado Springs, Colo., to train at the prestigious U.S. Olympic Training Center. During that time, Tappin made her second Olympic Team at age 25. She competed in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, where she captured two more Gold Medals.

Tappin retired from competitive swimming in 2001 and switched her focus to coaching. She relocated to New Orleans where one of her primary goals is to establish Louisiana swimming on a national level. In the last two years, she has enjoyed coaching swimmers ranging in all levels and abilities and placed two local girls on the Junior National Championship level.

In the summer of 1993, Tappin established a non-profit organization called "Paddle and Paint" for the purpose of educating public school kids in the sixth grade on water safety and art appreciation. The project was done in conjunction with New Orleans Saints assistant coach Joe Baker at the UNO Lakefront Arena Natatorium.

UNO, which originally began swimming during the early 1980s, discontinued the sport in Sept. 1992. The athletics department, which had initially decided to add women's soccer at some point a few years ago, decided to make this change in a move to satisfy its Title IX requirement.

"When I came aboard in January, 2003, soccer was still on the radar screen, but I made the determination that it would be more equitable from both a facilities and a recruitment perspective to implement women's swimming instead," Miller said. "We have an outstanding aquatics center already, and the state high school swimming championships will be here the next three years. We are on track to field a competitive team in the fall of 2004. Women's soccer is still a possibility down the road, but it would depend on our ability to secure an all-purpose on-campus stadium that would accommodate soccer and track and field."
